The OLR principal, Michael, and Fr Josh are competing to see how much they can raise!
This Wednesday night the temperature is forecast to drop to a balmy 8 degrees – but for Michael Stewart and Fr Josh they will hopefully be rugged up as they take part in the annual St Vincent de Paul CEO Sleepout. The Vinnies sleepout takes place across Australia as a one-night event to support the many
Australians who are experiencing homelessness and people at risk of homelessness. You are invited to support them.

Fr Josh
While I haven’t personally experienced homelessness, I had the privilege of working with homeless people in Brisbane as part of my seminary formation years. These people need our help – and there are many homeless people in our parish community if you know where to look.
Michael Steward, the OLR school principal, and I are taking part in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout to raise money for the St Vincent de Paul Society to support Australians in need. For one night, I’ll be leaving my nice warm bed to sleep outside in order to raise awareness and bring home the realities of homelessness.
I need your support though to both raise the money and beat Michael and the primary school community! Will you help me to reach and exceed the target of $5000? I started off with $100 of my own money and invite you to give whatever you are able to this worthy cause. Fr Josh

Never see a need without doing something about it. Saint Mary MacKillop.
One night isn’t a lot, but it can make a whole lot of difference. I want to show our students that small initiatives when combined with others can make a significant difference to the lives of others.
Every night, thousands of Australians experience homelessness. But it doesn’t have to be that way. This year I’m taking part in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout to raise money for the St Vincent de Paul Society to support Australians in need. For one night, I’ll be sleeping outside the school office as part of an eye-opening experience to raise awareness and bring home the realities of homelessness.
To help break the devastating cycle of homelessness, I need your support. Will you help me to reach my target? Donating 10 dollars can make a huge difference to people who need it most.
