We wave goodbye to an old financial year this weekend and we look forward to a new one beginning this week. What will a new financial year hold for all of us? Only time will tell! On behalf of the Parish Finance Committee, thank you for your continued support and trust over the past twelve months.
As a Finance Committee, we are acutely aware of the uncertain economic times we are living in and how some of our fellow parishioners are struggling at this time, which makes us all the more appreciative of your financial sacrifices and commitment.
Our next finance Committee meeting will take place on the 1st September and I hope to be able to report from that meeting some of our plans and goals, as we look into the next 12 months and beyond.
Foremost in our deliberations is the rapidly expanding residential development of Aura and the challenge of how we minister to that growing population. It is important that we establish a Catholic presence in what will become a major population center. Within the next twelve months we want to have achieved this goal. To achieve this goal will require a financial commitment from our entire parish.
While we ponder what the future looks like and prepare the foundation for that future we still need to pay our bills, maintain our buildings and support the many ministries of our Parish family.
All this, of course, takes place only through your generous support and trust. On behalf of each member of the Finance Council, I want to thank all fellow parishioners who have made a commitment through the Parish Planned Giving programme and to everyone who contributes financially to our ability to budget, and not only just pay our bills, but also plan with confidence for the future. I assure you that we will endeavour to be good stewards of your trust and generosity.
