Plenary Council

Through the Listening and Dialogue phase, along with the Listening and Discernment phase, parishes and faith communities right across the Archdiocese of Brisbane have been integral to the Plenary journey.If you wish to remain close to the Plenary First Assembly and pray together with us, you are welcome to attend the Plenary Council First Assembly Opening Mass at 12.00pm on Sunday October 3 in St Stephen’s Cathedral, as well as the Closing Mass at 10.00am on Sunday October 10 at St Stephen’s Cathedral. All are welcome.Please remember to wear a mask to comply with COVID requirements. A return to ticketed seating and registration will better help us accommodate the expected numbers. Please book for free via the following booking systems for the Mass you would like to attend:Opening Mass on Sunday 3 October at 12 noon Closing Mass on Sunday 10 October at 10.00am May the Spirit lead us and inspire us.


Vinnies 3 day Book and Plant Sale

The annual St Vincent de Paul fundraising event will be held at the Kawana Catholic Community Centre,Nanyima Street, Buddina (opposite the Kawana Library) on Friday 8th& Saturday 9thOctober from 8am–3pm and on Sunday 10thOctober from 9am–1pm. There will be fiction, non-fiction and children’s books galore, many by popular authors, as well as DVDs, CDs, jig-saw puzzles and much more. For those wanting to start up a new garden or freshen up an existing one, we have many beautiful indoor and garden plants such as, agapanthus, clivias and succulents ready to brighten up your home. ALL proceeds go to assisting the St Vincent de Paul Society in con-tinuing to support and give a hand up to those going through difficult times due to homelessness, do-mestic violence, unemployment, as well as those affected by COVID in our local community. Syro Malabar Catholic Community First Eucharist & Confirmation

Last Sunday, on 19th of September, 12 children of the Syro Malabar community solemnly received the Holy Eucharist and 6 received their confirmation.

The Holy mass was celebrated by Fr. George Mankuzhikary and Fr. Joseph Kanattu in the presence of the children’s parents and the Syro Malabar community. They were simply divine in their outfits. Thank you all who prayed for them and we ask that you continue to do so

On the Move!

After consultation, His Grace, The Archbishop has made the following appointments to take effect from the 1st of January 2022. Fr Jan Bialasiewicz as Parish Priest of Darra Jindalee parish to fill the vacancy left by the sudden death of Fr Dan Carroll. Fr Emmanuel Ayankudy CMI as Parish Priest of Stella Maris, Maroochydore. Fr Regimon Gervasis MCBS Administrator of St Anthony and St Luke’s parish, Alexandra Hills Capalaba. Fr Prem Kumar will become the Associate Pastor Alexandra Hills Capalaba and Birkdale from the 1st of January.


Break Open the Word

We are fulfilling our orders this week for next year’s Break Open the Word, which contains the Sunday readings ($20); Ordo which is used for daily liturgy planning ($15) and the Daily Mass Book that has the Mass text for Sunday and weekday Mass ($20). Please place your name and community on an envelope enclosing the amount and details and forward it to the Parish Office.


In Transition

As a Parish Family we extend our prayerful congratulations to Rosalyn Steinhofer who will be baptised this weekend in the OLR church.

We pray for Mario Fais & Michael McMahon who died this week. May their souls and all our deceased priests, religious and parishioners Rest in Peace.
