The Women’s Retreat Day – “Walking with God”  IT’S NOT TOO LATE !

The Women’s Retreat Day is on this Tuesday, February 15th at Our Lady of the Rosary.  The theme of the retreat day is Walking with God and the guest speakers who will lead our reflection will be Lisa McKerr and Chantale Wilson  from Evangelization Brisbane.    The day begins with Mass at 9am, morning tea and lunch provided.  For more information or if you would like to attend please contact Vivienne on 0409897673 or Julie on 0431941271. Numbers are filling up fast.

 

Ladies Lunch 

The next ladies lunch will be this Friday 18th February at Nicky’s Cafe 65 Pierce Avenue Little Mountain at 12 noon.  You will need proof of vaccination with you.  If you would like to come please let Deborah (0410531901) know by Tuesday 15th Feb. Thank you.

 

Kingdom Youth New Launch Date

A reminder that our Youth Launch is coming up on FRIDAY 11 MARCH from 5pm-9pm at Unity College. All Year 7-12 students welcome! Dinner, games, slushies, raffle rego, and more. Please register via the adjacent QR code. All registered go in the running to win Apple Airpods! See you there!

 

 

 

Help Needed – Youth Group Dinners

We believe sharing a meal together is such an important part of connection and fellowship, and so will be offering dinner for our kids each Friday night at youth group. We were wondering if anyone would like to assist us by donating a meal one Friday night this term. Kingdom YA Hangs

We’ve got a young adult social night coming up on Wednesday 16 February! We are throwing on our skates and heading to the Rollerdome from 5pm-7pm and then out for some dinner. About $20 to participate! All YAs welcome to join us. For more info, email Felicity at [email protected]

 

2022 Sacramental Program

This Wednesday 16th February we start our Sacramental program for  First Holy Communion and First Reconciliation (For Grade 4 or older). If your child/ren have made their Confirmation and wish to continue their sacraments please contact the Fr Ejikeme in the parish office on 5430 9390 or [email protected] by Tuesday 15/2/22 to enrol and be included in the program.

The program dates are:

Information Evening: 5pm, Wednesday 16th February,

2 Rite of Enrolment Masses: 5pm Saturday 19th Feb and 9.30am, Sunday 20th Feb

Lesson 1: Class on Holy Communion: Wednesday 23rd Feb

Lesson 2: Class on Holy Communion: Wednesday 2nd March

Lesson 3: Class on Reconciliation: Wednesday 9th March

First Reconciliation Celebrations: 5-7pm, Wednesday 16th March  (First Rite Confession, 3 groups)

Fourth Week: Rehearsal and recap on HC: Wednesday 23rd March

2 First Holy Communion Masses: 5pm Saturday 26th March and  9.30am, Sunday 27th March

 

Lenten Reflection Program 2022

Ash Wednesday and the start of Lent is only 2½ weeks away!   Soon we will be ordering booklets of Daily Reflections for Lent from the Brisbane Archdiocese and we are looking for expressions of interest to get involved.  We will need to order the resources and to form groups.   The Lenten Discussion groups have always been a rewarding faith experience for all involved.   If you would like to form a group please let us know.   If you are interested in being part of a group likewise please contact the parish office 5430 9390 or [email protected]

 

Episcopal Ordination

The Episcopal Ordination of Timothy John Norton SVD as Auxiliary Bishop of Brisbane will be celebrated at the Cathedral of St Stephen on Tuesday 22 February at 10.30am. Attendance is via ticketed seating only. A limited number of places will be available for online bookings from Tuesday 15th February to Friday 18th February, unless booked out sooner. World Day Of Prayer Service 2022

World Day of Prayer is a global ecumenical movement led by Christian women who welcome everyone to join in prayer and action for peace and justice.  WDP has the motto: Informed Prayer and Prayerful Action. The service this year has been prepared by the women of England, Wales and Northern Ireland, with the theme “I know the plans I have for you”.

Location:-  Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, Edmund Street, Caloundra

Date:-  Friday 4 March Time:- 9:30 Morning Tea, 10:00 Service.

Everyone is welcome to attend as we join with members of six other churches in praying for peace and justice in our world.

In Transition

As a parish family we welcome Vinnie Ball who will be baptised at OLR this weekend.

We pray for George Calleja whose funeral will be on Friday 18th February in the OLR church at 11.30am & Brian King whose funeral will be held next week. May their soul and all the souls of our deceased priests, religious and parishioners  Rest in Peace.
