The Catholic Faith

Would you like to simply find out a bit more of what the Church believes?
Struggling to find answers to some of the bigger questions of life?  We will soon be beginning a new journey for those who are interested in finding out a bit more of what we believe as Catholics. The programme will be starting on 14th March, 2022 at OLR 6pm. So if you would like to be involved or would like more information, please
contact Fr. Ejikeme [email protected] or the parish office [email protected]

Pray for us

We, the Young Parishioners preparing for the reception of  First Holy Communion will be having our Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time on Wednesday 16th March, 2022. A joyful event in our lives. Still at the back of OLR church, you will see our names and photographs. Please continue praying for us. With your prayers, God’s wisdom will be upon us. Thank you.

Thank you

Your generosity to the Parish week in, week out, is very much appreciated and our Parish mission of witnessing to the Good News takes place through your continued support thank you.   The disruption caused by Covid has changed so many  aspects of our lives and daily routine and we have all had to adapt and discover new ways of doing old things! This is especially true of how we financially support the parish. For some the direct debit option works well,  others have utilized the QR code or the drum at the entrance to the OLR church or the collection plates at our other communities. However you decide to financially support the different communities of Our Lady of the Rosary, a grateful parish says thank you!

The More Things Change –
The More Things Stay The Same!

With the relaxation of Covid regulations it has given our Parish Family the chance to return to some form of normality. We are a church of symbols and last week the holy water fonts were refilled, allowing us to bless ourselves, reminding us of our own baptism. The offertory procession took place and in the bringing forward of the gifts of bread and wine we symbolically offer part of ourselves along with the bread and wine. More terrifyingly, the collection plates reappeared! Because of Covid there are now so many options so however you financially support the mission of your Parish, thank you. As our Lenten journey continues you are reminded of the additional opportunities of the Stations of the Cross each Friday at Our Lady of the Rosary immediately after the 9am morning Mass and the new Wednesday morning Mass at 7:50am at the Unity College chapel. You are invited to join the teachers and students of the college for Mass.

A Special Invitation—Lenten Taizé

As a new year begins, we are often busy getting back into routine after a lengthy holiday period! Our parish is offering a special evening of quiet prayer in the style of Taizé. Short mantra-like songs can refresh us in body, mind and spirit. Through gentle repetition, the meaning of the words gradually penetrates our whole being. In song and silence, we can listen more deeply. These simple chants allow us the light of Christ to shine on our lives as we journey together towards Easter.
Come and relax in this beautiful prayer at OLR on Tuesday 15 March at 7pm OR St. George’s Anglican Church, 2 Walkers Drive, Maleny on Sunday 6 March at 6.00pm.

What’s For Lunch?

The next Ladies’ Lunch will be on Friday, March 18th at 12 noon at the Golden Beach Tavern (32 Bowman Road Caloundra). As with all restaurants, you will need proof of vaccination.
Please accept this invitation – why not bring a friend?
If you would like to come please let Deborah know by Monday 14th March to assist with catering. Thank you.
