There are organised criminals who regularly target unsuspecting people through their email account requesting money.
It is a scam designed to separate you from your money. There are currently several of these emails attacking parishioner’s email addresses. Your priests will NEVER send you a email soliciting money. If you receive a fraudulent email report it as a scam and delete – under no circumstances respond to their request.
Kawana Community 10 week Lectio Divina Bible Study
Kawana Community would like to invite all Parishioners and your friends to a Bible Study commencing this week on ‘Peter in the New Testament’:
DATES: 23 June-7 July, (2 wk course evaluation break), then those wishing to continue, 28 July-8 Sept.
PLACE: Air-conditioned Good Shepherd Centre (opp the Library & Community Centre) Nanyima St, Buddina.
TIME: 8am-9:30am (followed by morning tea).
The suggestion is that those who are new to a Bible study, or have not experienced a Lectio Divina approach to scripture that you make a three session commitment to attend & then reassess whether you find the Course beneficial, meeting your expectations, and fitting into your weekly schedule.
There is no obligation, no cost (donation to offset the Parish Office printing costs would be appreciated), and a free Bible will be supplied for those who don’t have their own personal copy. The course is presented by the USA-based Catholic Augustine Institute
Through the program, you’ll come to know Peter, love Peter, and identify with his humanity. He was not a theologian, not a Pharisee, not a rabbi, not a son or disciple of a rabbi – just a fisherman who will inspire you in his transformation and encourage you in ‘casting your nets into the deep’.
Last week to Donate
