You are Invited to Encounter Jesus

Friends, on Wednesday 13th July at OLR church at 5.30pm, you are invited the next parish Encounter Night. Encounter nights are engineered to facilitate what many Catholics have never experienced in their lives: a personal encounter with Jesus. While the experience of Encounter looks and feels different for everyone, there are common themes to Encountering Christ – these are shared through testimony on the night. If you’ve ever wondered what is meant when someone talks about a personal encounter with Jesus, you’re invited to come and see for yourself. We start by serving finger food and drinks outside, followed by an evening of worship and prayer – the Sacrament of Reconciliation is also available. All are welcome! Please email the parish office asap – [email protected] – to register for catering purposes.

A Special Event Coming Up

Generosity has always been the hallmark of our Parish Family and we are grateful for the striking floral arrangement at the base of the Our Lady of the Rosary church altar on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Sunday and throughout NAIDOC week. The display captures the journey of First Nation peoples in our area of Moreton Bay and Pumicestone Passage, which was represented by the blue and water within the arrangement of local flora.

A reminder that on Saturday 30 July, as a follow-up  to Archbishop Coleridge’s launch of the Archdiocesan Laudato Si’ Action Plan on Pentecost Sunday, there will be an introduction to the Archdiocesan Laudato Si’ -Care for Our Common Home Action Plan and a consideration of how we, the Parish, might respond. All welcome so please mark in your diary 10am, Saturday July 30th at OLR Church.
