Parish Summit Day – 5 November
In 3 weeks, we will be gathering (the entire parish) from 10.00am – 3.00pm at Unity College for a Summit Day where we will do the most important work of the Strategic Planning Process: listening to your voices.
Becoming a Catholic
For all those who wish to know more about the Church and our faith, the opportunity is here again! There will be a first gathering in the process to meet on Saturday 29 October at the Parish Centre starting at 10.00am. For more information please contact the parish office on 5430 9390.
Rite of Christian Initiation for Teens (RCIT) Program
If you are a high schooler and interested in receiving the sacraments of initiation (baptism, confirmation, communion), Felicity will be running a 5-week program throughout Term 4. The sacraments are wonderful tools that will help you encounter God in real ways, so you can come to better understand what faith is for you!
The program will run after school at Unity College, dates TBC. If you would like further information, please email Felicity at [email protected]
All in Years 7–12 are welcome to go on this journey together!
Catholics around Australia are invited to a unique, national event that will inspire, transform and revitalise faith communities! With presentations and workshops hosted by some of Australia’s most renowned Catholic speakers, ‘Evangelise’ will cover a range of mission and ministry topics, from cultural engagement to liturgy and Sacraments. This is an event you do not want to miss!

The next bi-monthly Grief Support Mass for all parishioners will be held at OLR on Friday 21 October at 9.00am followed by morning tea. St Vincent de Paul
Fr Francis has become part of the Vincentian family receiving his Vinnies shirt!
During the 9.30am Mass at Maleny last weekend, Kirra Elysee made her First Holy Communion & Confirmation. The community all joined in with cake and coffee in celebration of Kirra’s sacramental journey. Special thanks to Moya Pullinger for journeying with Kirra in receiving her sacraments.
Catholic Mission: Bring Hope to Neela
Subsistence farming is the way of life for the vast majority of families in Ethiopia, but challenges such as persistent drought ruin crops, and cause basic food prices to rise, becoming more and more unreachable for those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Neela*, a mother of three, lives this reality. She worries especially for her youngest son, Ajani*, who is frequently sick.
Although the land for the centre is secured, constructing the sheds, procuring the goats, feed and veterinary medication are all still goals that Fr Habte and the community needs help to achieve. Your support today can help kickstart this project and start supporting families like Neela’s.
We invite you to partner with the community and Church in Ethiopia through Catholic Mission today to be part of this life-giving mission in Emdibir as Jesus Christ, called us to be witnesses, in Acts 1:8.
Going Deeper podcast
There’s so much to know about the Catholic faith that it’s easy to get caught up in catechising ourselves while we forget about what it means to implement the faith in our daily lives. The podcast, Going Deeper, developed by Evangelisation Brisbane Adult formation, features a special guest each week to discuss theology and life. Some of the topics covered so far include The existence of God; Who’s going to make it?; How to pray with scripture; and Being led by the Spirit.
Next month, Shane Dwyer, the host, will be joined by Archbishop Mark on the podcast. We pray that in some small way that the Going Deeper Podcast can contribute to your ongoing journey of faith. Tune in
“I listen to this podcast on my daily walk and have found it wonderfully informative…I believe my faith journey will continue to deepen and thrive in a positive way.” Kelli, Assistant Principal Religious Education
