Catholic Mission: Bring Hope to Neela
Subsistence farming is the way of life for the vast majority of families in Ethiopia, but challenges such as persistent drought ruin crops, and cause basic food prices to rise, becoming more and more unreachable for those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Neela*, a mother of three, lives this reality. She worries especially for her youngest son, Ajani*, who is frequently sick.
Although the land for the centre is secured, constructing the sheds, procuring the goats, feed and veterinary medication are all still goals that Fr Habte and the community needs help to achieve. Your support today can help kickstart this project and start supporting families like Neela’s.
We invite you to partner with the community and Church in Ethiopia through Catholic Mission today to be part of this life-giving mission in Emdibir as Jesus Christ, called us to be witnesses, in Acts 1:8.

Going Deeper podcast
There’s so much to know about the Catholic faith that it’s easy to get caught up in catechising ourselves while we forget about what it means to implement the faith in our daily lives. The podcast, Going Deeper, developed by Evangelisation Brisbane Adult formation, features a special guest each week to discuss theology and life. Some of the topics covered so far include The existence of God; Who’s going to make it?; How to pray with scripture; and Being led by the Spirit.
Next month, Shane Dwyer, the host, will be joined by Archbishop Mark on the podcast. We pray that in some small way that the Going Deeper Podcast can contribute to your ongoing journey of faith. Tune in
“I listen to this podcast on my daily walk and have found it wonderfully informative…I believe my faith journey will continue to deepen and thrive in a positive way.” Kelli, Assistant Principal Religious Education
