Meet our Parish Leadership Team
Last weekend at the Parish Summit Day, at which 170 parishioners gathered to dream about and cast vision for the next five years of our Mission, Fr Josh introduced the Parish Leadership Team (PLT), (L-R Jacinta Elks, Fr Josh, Lin Johnstone and Felicity Jones). Leading out of a team acknowledges the fact that no one person possesses all the skills necessary to lead a large organisation, let alone a Parish, but that together, a well rounded team can effectively lead. Our PLT is but a small aspect of an emerging Synodal Leadership Structure in OLR Parish which will include a Community Council (worship community representation), a dynamic Finance Council, and paid leaders in across our six ministry areas (Children & Families, Youth & Young Adults, Worship, Faith & Formation, Community Life, and Service & Outreach). The role of the six ministry area leaders will be to support the different leaders of specific Ministries in each of our worshipping communities. This is an exciting time in the life of our parish because we’re laying the foundations for a mission-orientated parish structure which will empower and release people’s gifts as missionary-disciples. Come Holy Spirit!!

2022 Annual Catholic Campaign Thank you
THANK YOU for all you do to support those in need in our local communities. We are overwhelmed by your Parish’s generosity and support.
Times are hard for so many, and our agencies have seen an increasing number of individuals and families experiencing severe hardship. With your support, and through funds raised through the Campaign, these agencies continue reaching out to serve those in need, bringing hope, and showing the love of Christ. This year, your parish raised $20,173.50 to support the Campaign – a tremendous contribution, received with absolute gratitude for your kindness and care.
Thank you so much from all of us at the Annual Catholic Campaign.
Urgently seeking accomodation
Our local St Vincent de Paul Conference is urgently seeking accommodation for a mother and her four children (3 to 11 years).
This is a local family currently experiencing hard times and at real risk of homelessness. Please ring Peter on 07 5492 4402.
A taste of Taizé
Taizé is a tiny village in France. Since 1940, it has been home to an ecumenical community of Brothers who pray very simply through chant. During wartime, Br Roger established this community as a place of welcome for Jews who were fleeing the Nazis. Taizé has always had a special solidarity with human suffering. Taizé is a symbol of hope and reconciliation. The Brothers take special interest in the poor and in youth who flock to Taizé to reflect on their lives and join in sung prayer. Join in this beautiful prayer at OLR on Tuesday 6 Dec at 7.00pm.
Prayer and Reflection invitation at Santa Teresa Spirituality Centre
The Catholic experience can be about liturgy, sacraments and responding to Church teaching. As valuable as these elements of our faith are, A Morning’s Prayer is about locating something that sits underneath all that – the profound engagement with God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – who loves us and desires to walk with us in our lives as they are. This morning will be facilitated with a time of input, prayer, reflection and faith sharing, and aim to provide a prayerful respite from the busyness of life.

Going Deeper podcast
There’s so much to know about the Catholic faith that it’s easy to get caught up in catechising ourselves while we forget about what it means to implement the faith in our daily lives. If you’re interested in learning more, or just getting some perspective on faith, tune in to the weekly episodes!

Beer and Beef at Maleny
After Sunday Mass at Maleny ,parishioners indulged in a beer and beef feast that was fit for a king. Fr Francis impressed all with his delicious, home-made curry puffs. Its success has ensured more food and refreshment get togethers down the track!
