Bible Study 2023

We are planning to study the book of Acts in the New Year.
We have 2 groups at present, which meet either on Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning. If anyone would like to join us, you would be most welcome. We are not into academic theology, more a practical application approach. Please RSVP as books will need to be ordered. They will cost around $10 each. Please RSVP  Caroline Kettle, or get in touch if you would like to know more on 0435 828 092.

Ministry to the sick

The parish is in need of volunteers to take communion to the sick and elderly. If you are able to give of
your time and presence, please contact the parish office on (07) 5430 9390. Training and knowledge to perform your ministry with excellence will be provided. Thank you for your generosity towards those who cannot join us in worship.

Parish Finance Committee

Just a reminder that the next Parish Finance Committee Meeting is Tuesday 22 November at 3.30pm in the staff room.

A taste of Taizé

In the monastery at Taizé, short mantra-like songs create a relaxing style of prayer. As the words are repeated, their reality gradually penetrates our whole being. Singing becomes a way of listening to God. The simplicity and repetition allow us to wait attentively on God. This is a prayer of watching, awakening and listening. It is very much in the spirit of the Advent Scriptures. Come and relax in this beautiful prayer at OLR on Tuesday 6th Dec at 7.00pm.

A facilitated morning with prayer, reflection & faith sharing

The Catholic experience can be limited to liturgy, sacraments and responding to Church teaching. As valuable as these elements of our faith are, A Morning’s Prayer is about locating something that sits underneath all that: the profound engagement with God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – who loves us and desires to walk with us in our lives as they are. This morning will be facilitated with a time of input, prayer, reflection and faith sharing, and aims to provide a prayerful respite from the busyness of life. For more information email: [email protected]

Date: Saturday, 26 November 2022

Time: 9:00am-12:00pm at Santa Teresa Spirituality Centre. 267 Wellington Street Ormiston

Cost: $20

First Saturday Devotion – over 5 consecutive weeks

35 days till Christmas!

With Christmas fast approaching, it is time to fill our Mass ministry rosters. All the communities will be having a Christmas Mass which will require volunteers to assist with this most important time of year.
Rosters for the 5 OLR community Masses will be out over the next few weeks. If you are available on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day and would like to be involved with one of the Masses please fill in your name on the roster or talk to one of your community leaders. Thank you so much!

Going Deeper podcast

There’s so much to know about the Catholic faith that it’s easy to get caught up in catechising ourselves while we forget about what it means to implement the faith in our daily lives. If you’re interested in learning more, or just getting some perspective on faith, tune in to the weekly episodes!
