Join us for Stations of the Cross during Lent

This Lenten season, our weekly Stations of the Cross will take place immediately after the 9.00am Mass on Fridays. Everyone is welcome to join this uniquely Lenten devotional prayer experience.

 

Easter Roster

The rosters are in the OLR church for any minister who would like to take part in our Holy Thursday, Good Friday & Easter Saturday Masses.

 

Vinnies 3-day Book & Plant sale

This annual St Vincent de Paul fundraising event will be held at the Kawana Catholic Community Centre, (opposite the Kawana Library) on Friday 24 & Saturday 25 March from 8.00am-3.00pm; and on Sunday 26 March from 9.00am – 1.00pm.

There will be fiction, non-fiction and children’s books galore, many by popular authors, as well as DVDs, CDs, jigsaw puzzles and much more. For those wanting to start up a new garden or freshen up an
existing one, we have many beautiful indoor and garden plants ready to brighten up your home. ALL proceeds go to assisting the St Vincent de Paul Society in continuing to support and give a hand up to those going through difficult times due to homelessness, domestic violence, continual increase in cost of living and high rental costs.

All our Vinnies volunteers look forward to welcoming you. So come and grab  yourself a bargain.

TERM 2 Confirmation

Confirmation for all baptised children from Year 3 or older are welcome to make their confirmation in Term 2.

The program starts on Thursday 27 April at the OLR Church from 5.00-6.00pm  The program runs for seven weeks with the Confirmation ceremony on Friday 9 June.

You will need to attend all sessions to be able to complete the sacrament. Stella Maris Parish Maroochydore is running the same program a day apart so you are welcome to attend there or here. To register you need to go to our website and complete the registration form. Both parents need to sign the form, and a copy of your child’s baptism certificate needs to be attached to the application.

Gifts Workshop

Holy Spirit Gift Workshop

The Mission Team of Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) Brisbane presents a Gifts workshop.

Where: OLR Caloundra

When: Saturday 25 March 2023

Time: 9.30am – 4.00pm, following 9.00am Mass.

Lunch, morning & afternoon tea provided. Please register for catering purposes by contacting Dorothy by email or phone 0403 175 714.  A love offering will be taken up to cover costs.

 

 

Encounter Kids invitation

Let Encounter Kids inspire your child with their one-day school holiday program filled with games, activities, crafts, fun and faith. Whether your child likes puzzles or playing Tug-O-War, it’s the ultimate environment to meet new friends and take part in immersive play and prayer designed to give children a positive and powerful experience of the Catholic faith.

Encounter Kids is the perfect playground for kids to burn off some energy in the school holidays, master some true friendships and encounter faith that might yet lead them to their best friendship ever with Jesus!

Open to all primary school aged children aged between 5 and 12 years, this one-day program creates a welcoming and fun space for children to connect with Jesus and grow in faith. Register now.

 

Ladies Luncheon

The next Ladies Lunch will be Friday 17 March (St Patrick’s Day) at Dicky Beach Surf Club (1 Coochin Street Dicky Beach) at 12.00pm.

Bunnings BBQ – Caloundra St Vincent De Paul

Please stop by and support our first Bunnings barbecue this year hosted by Caloundra’s St Vincent de Paul on Saturday 18 March. Funds raised will be used to support local families.

 

Grief Support

The next bi-monthly Grief Support Mass for all parishioners will be held at OLR on Friday 17 March at 9.00am followed by morning tea. If you are experiencing grief through the loss of a loved one, a broken relationship or a major life change of any kind, and you feel that the Grief Support team can be of assistance to you or a family member, please contact Kath or the Parish Office with your details so a support person can contact you. All contact is treated with utmost confidentiality.

In Transition

This weekend we welcome Abbie & Eva Galvin who will be baptised at the OLR church this weekend. We pray for Beryl Fitzgerald whose memorial mass will be on the 30 April 11.00am in the OLR church, may her soul and all the souls of our deceased priests, religious and parishioners rest in peace.
