“Jesus is the Reason for the Season”
In tracking the lights in Caloundra don’t forget with the focus on the activity and the reminder “Jesus in the Reason for the Season”, you are welcome to visit Bishop Brian’s Christmas Lights any evening after 6.30pm – 5 & 7 Buderim St Currimundi.
St Vincent De Paul Annual Christmas Appeal
This weekend is our annual Vinnies Christmas Appeal. The five conferences try to provide a Christmas hamper or gift cards for every individual and family that we have assisted during the year. And while this brings much needed festive joy, the reality is, this can be a very difficult time for families. Vinnies experiences an increased demand for emergency food, fuel, accommodation and help with setting the children up for school next year. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
There are envelopes on the pews with options for cash or card donations. Please place your envelopes in any collection basket or in the Vinnies poor box. If you have come unprepared this weekend please feel free to take an envelope home and return with your donation at a later date. God Bless, St Vincent de Paul Society.
Community Life
Community Life Ministry team has continued to focus throughout the wider parish this year “by facilitating experiences of connection, participation and belonging.” We have been continuing to encourage the wearing of name badges, providing hospitality after mass, celebrating Volunteers Day and relevant feast days for each community location and building the spirit of community in the varied mass locations in the OLR parish.
Our major focus currently is highlighting and elevating the vital role of mass greeters throughout all locations. The greeter is usually the first point of contact as people walk through the door hopefully feeling a sense of welcoming and belonging whether they be a parishioner at that mass who is long-term or new or a visitor. When this happens our parish mission “to be a vibrant community that actively accompanies people to encounter Jesus” truly comes alive at the entry doors thanks to our valued Greeters.
The role of Greeters has now become even more important with the expected changes to the Mass roster throughout our extensive parish. It is now very timely to call together our current Greeters and any interested persons from throughout the parish.
Meeters & Greeters
The one hour sessions will be at OLR Caloundra church on:
Saturday, Dec 14th at 3:30pm,
Sunday, Dec 15th at 7:30am and 10:30am

A Taste of Taize
Taizé is a tiny village in France. Since 1940, it has been home to an ecumenical community of Brothers who pray very simply through chant. During wartime, Br Roger established this community as a place of welcome for Jews who were fleeing the Nazis. Taizé has always had a special solidarity with human suffering. Taizé is a symbol of hope and reconciliation. The Brothers take special interest in the poor and in youth who flock to Taizé to reflect on their lives and join in the sung prayer. Join in this beautiful prayer at OLR on Tuesday 10 Dec at 7pm. https://www.taize.fr/en
Parish Dinner Dance 26th April 2025
It’s been a while since our last big celebration. The parish is inviting all parishioners and friends to celebrate an evening filled with great food, entertainment and good fellowship. With the congregation now consisting of people with ancestry coming from over 24 countries, we want to take this as an opportunity to celebrate its cultural diversity and get together as single people of God. Let’s bring colour on the night and don your best frock. Mark the date and watch this space in the future for details.

Merindah Summer Camp 2025
A Year of Invitation
My Lord and my God, you never cease to invite me to know, love and follow your Son, Jesus. Give me the grace and courage to be a channel of your love so that my “yes” to you becomes an invitation to others. I offer up my entire self – heart, mind and will – to your purpose for me. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
On the Journey
We congratulate Jack & Amelia McEneny who will be baptised at OLR this weekend.
We Congratulate Guilanna & Dean on the blessing of their wedding this weekend.
We pray for all who have recently died and the souls of our deceased priests, religious and parishioners Rest in Peace.
