Sacrificial Giving
I extend my heartfelt thanks to each of you who have already responded, or who are prayerfully considering your response, to the annual sacrificial giving preaching series held over the past two weeks. Your openness and willingness to say “Yes” to God’s invitation fills me with immense gratitude and hope.
As mentioned in the homily last weekend, pledge cards and envelopes are available in the pews this weekend. May I ask each giver in the parish (a couple or family normally represents one giver), to complete the pledge card and return it in the collection basket. This will allow my small finance team to know how many givers we have in our parish – an utterly necessary aspect of budgeting. Through your generosity, we are reminded of the beauty of our faith—a faith rooted in love, sacrifice, and the call to serve.
Your “Yes” reflects not only your trust in God’s Providence, but also your commitment to building a vibrant parish community that walks together in faith, guiding others to encounter the life-changing love of Jesus. Together, we can continue to grow as a community that actively accompanies and uplifts one another, drawing closer to Christ and sharing His light with the world.
May God bless you abundantly for the sacrifices you make and the love you show through your support of our parish.
With deep gratitude and prayers, Fr Josh

Harmony Day
Last weekend Harmony Week was held at Caloundra to highlight our cultural diversity and celebrate it together.
The Sunshine Coast is home to migrants from 150 countries with residents speaking 96 languages with 21% of our residents born overseas. This number has doubled over past 20 years.
We celebrated inclusiveness, respect and belonging to OLR parish with sharing plates of food from various cultures and wearing orange, the official Harmony Day colour. And so we continue to develop and grow our “vibrant community”.
Roster for Easter Tridium
If you are around for Easter and are coming to join in our Easter Triduum and are able to help at any of the Mass centres, please see your roster coordinator or put your name on the roster sheet in the church. Thank you.
Indulge Responsibly
The sweet, but sometimes bitter truth about Easter Chocolate. Australians will spend billions of dollars on chocolate. Cocoa is a key ingredient of chocolate. Much of the chocolate sold in Australia is made using cocoa beans picked by children, many of whom have been enslaved, or forced to work in exploitative conditions. The International Labor Rights Forum (ILRF) estimates that there are more than 1.5 million children working in the cocoa sector in West Africa, where about 70% of the world’s cocoa is produced.
We can avoid supporting slavery if we seek out the Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance logos on the chocolate wrapper when buying EASTER EGGS or Chocolates. These certification seals mean the certified ingredient was produced using methods that support social, economic, and environmental sustainability.
