Preparations are well on the way for our 2 Day book and plant sale to be held on 2nd and 3rd May from  8am-3pm at the Kawana Catholic Community Centre Nanyima St. Buddina (opposite the Kawana Library). This is now our major fundraising event. We are desperately in need of plants, decorative pots and garden items. Your continued support and generosity are always greatly appreciated.

Indulge Responsibly

The sweet, but sometimes bitter truth about Easter Chocolate. Australians will spend billions of dollars on chocolate. Cocoa is a key ingredient of chocolate. Much of the chocolate sold in Australia is made using cocoa beans picked by children, many of whom have been enslaved, or forced to work in exploitative conditions. The International Labor Rights Forum (ILRF) estimates that there are more than 1.5 million children working in the cocoa sector in West Africa, where about 70% of the world’s cocoa is produced.

We can avoid supporting slavery if we seek out the Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance logos on the chocolate wrapper when buying EASTER EGGS or Chocolates. These certification seals mean the certified ingredient was produced using methods that support social, economic, and environmental sustainability. More Information is at https://acrath.org.au (Australian Catholic Religious Against Trafficking in Humans).

It’s been a while since our last big celebration. The parish is inviting all parishioners and friends to celebrate an evening filled with great food, entertainment and good fellowship. With the congregation now consisting of people with ancestry coming from over 24 countries, we want to take this as an opportunity to celebrate its cultural diversity and get together as single people of God. Let’s bring colour on the night and don your best frock.  Tickets now available via this link: Dinner Dance 26th April 2025

A Year of Engagement

Lord God, I say yes to your will for me:

To live out my baptism in obedience to you.

As a member of our parish,

I commit myself to your mission of invitation:

To be vibrant like your Son, to extend myself in charity,

and to actively accompany people to encounter Jesus.

Who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen

On the Journey
