 Grown Men Living Their Baptism

On Saturday morning last week, 19 men gathered at the OLR Parish Centre for a mini retreat with Shane Dwyer, Associate Director, Adult Formation, Evangelisation Brisbane.

Shane challenged us with the question ‘What is God asking of us?’ as we concentrated on God’s primary focus of leading us to freely choose to be in an eternal relationship with our creator.

We were invited to breathe in His Holy Spirit, knowing that our God wants to reveal himself to us as if we were the only person that exists in the world. Jn 1: 35-39 was examined with Jesus asking John the Baptist’s disciples “What are you looking for?” In the ancient Hebrew tradition, rabbis would choose disciples to come and live with them. Jesus also asks us, his disciples, to “Come follow me”; to come and live with Him and experience His love for us and others.

Shane’s address was much appreciated and left us to ponder how both Peter & Paul had post

resurrection experiences of Jesus (see 1Peter 3: 8-15).

How have we experienced His post resurrection transformation?

Thank you to Shane and all the men who attended. John Manion.
