Welcoming RCIA Catechumens and Candidates
Last Sunday, during the 9:30am Mass, we welcomed the Garnsey family into the church. Bishop Brian Heenan was the celebrant and Clive, Veronica, John, Joshua & Jaime were baptised; and Veronica and Clive and their eldest son John were also confirmed. Thank you to all the sponsors and to Marie Pucko who co-ordinated the RCIA journey that let up to the celebration.
Singing for Supper
A perfect evening on the Caloundra presbytery balcony last Tuesday was the setting for the musicians and singers of our Parish to be wined and dined. The evening was a chance for the members of this most important ministry to gather and share their experiences. It was also a chance for our parish to recognise and thank each musician and choir member for their generous sharing of their time and talent with us week in and week out. Thank you to Dom’s at Kings Beach for assisting with the catering and for Fr Peter’s Tiramisu that was completely devoured!
Lunch for visiting Cardinal
Last Thursday, the priests of our Parish hosted the Cardinal Archbishop of Jakarta H.E Ignatius Cardinal Suharyo for lunch. This is the Cardinal’s first visit to Australia and he was here to attend the graduation ceremony of Fr Thomas Ismoyo who has just completed his doctorate in human resources at QUT. Fr Thomas has for the past 4 years been living at Wynberg and assisting at the Cathedral and ministering to the Indonesian Catholic Community.
Bon Voyage
Parishioners gathered at the conclusion of the Tuesday morning Mass at Sacred Heart, Maleny, to thank Margaret and Byron Moss for their energetic ministry and involvement in the life of the local Parish community. For over 30 years Margaret has been one of the sacristans who have looked after the church and ensured that all our liturgical celebrations have run smoothly.
All the best.
