Safeguarding Sunday 2022
This parish and the Archdiocese of Brisbane are committed to the care, wellbeing and protection of children, young people and people at risk in our community. Our Safeguarding Commitment is: Zero tolerance for all forms of abuse and strives to safeguard all who interact with its ministries & services. Special priority is given to the safety and wellbeing of children, and adults at risk.
Mindful of the theme for National Child Protection Week, ‘Every child, in every community, needs a fair go’, may we work together to ensure all people feel safe and supported. Today especially, on Child Protection Sunday, we join with all parishes, ministries, QLD communities and Catholic schools across Australia to take responsibility for children being protected because protecting children is everyone’s business. Feeling safe and a strong sense of belonging is critical and important to enable children to feel safe and loved. We all need to play a part to protect children from harm, neglect and abuse.

Did you know that children, often, tell us what is happening to them through clear statements or in subtle ways? As a helping hand, Brisbane Catholic Education have put together a wellbeing checklist to check in on your child.
