Community Life
Our ministry continues to work hard striving towards these Strategic Plan end goals:
Vision: We have a dream that our Community Life Ministry will cultivate a burning desire to belong within the Our Lady of the Rosary faith community by facilitating experiences of connection and participation. This ministry celebrates the gift of Jesus’ presence whenever two or more are gathered.
Outcomes 2023 – 2027
- Each congregation celebrates belonging at weekend Masses.
- We advocate unity across all the communities of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish.
All people who walk through our doors experience a spirit of welcome and belonging.
Major wins so far: Hospitality events after Mother’s Day masses at Caloundra proved to be very well-attended creating stronger relationships. Feast day celebrations at different communities—Maleny Sacred Heart’s 100th celebrations, Landsborough’s 70th Feast Day, Unity, Southern Cross Care and Kawana’s Feast Day were a huge success, and more communities are progressing well thanks to community leaders’ planning and organisation. The Parish Service Day sausage sizzles and warm brekkie provided a warm thank you to past, present and future volunteers.
Future Plans: Set up new procedures to welcome and inform new parishioners with a booklet listing all groups and activities throughout our extensive parish. A training day for greeters will be organised soon.
How Can you help? Complete the new digital volunteers form via the Linktree QR code in this newsletter. Paper forms are also available for completion from the church/mass centre or parish office. We are always after more volunteers especially to help with hospitality events (after mass, funerals etc) as well as more greeters.
