Kingdom Youth Update: Thank you & Goodbye!
Throughout 2024, we had around 140 different students join us each Friday night, averaging 40 students each week. We gathered together 25 times throughout the year – 16 formation nights, 7 social nights including heading to the movies, roller drome, laser tag, mini Olympics, and more, and 2 encounter nights where we experienced the beauty and wonder of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with prayer teams and worship provided.
Sadly, I am finishing up as Youth Minister at the end of this year. I am completing some study and moving into primary teaching. I am really excited to continue to work with and support young people, now in a different capacity, but will certainly miss the special nature of youth ministry. I started Kingdom Youth with the hope that we could provide our high schoolers with real and raw experiences of encounter; an experience of faith and Church they’ve never had before and didn’t know existed. Three years on, it has been the privilege of my life to journey with, grow alongside, and support your children in exploring their faith and what a relationship with Jesus looks like for them. It is my prayer that this has come back into your families and into your homes, and that you have also begun asking some of those bigger questions, particularly: “Who are you, Lord, and who am I?”
Our new Youth Minister, Christyna, will reach out to all parents and students in the new year as Kingdom Youth gets ready to launch again for 2025. Please save the date! Friday 7 February from 6pm – 8:30pm at Unity College. God is so good, and I am so grateful for the past three years. I won’t be too far away, so I look forward to seeing the continued growth of this incredible group!
If your family is looking for a Christmas Mass, please join us in the Unity Auditorium from 4pm on Christmas Eve. All other Mass times can be found on the parish website: https://caloundracatholicparish.net/
To keep up to date with all things Kingdom Youth, please follow us on Instagram: @kingdom.caloundra. If you have any enquiries about our sacramental program for teenagers or primary schoolers, would like to assist or support in another way, or have any general questions please email the parish.
May God bless your beautiful families over this Christmas season and into the New Year!
Thank you! Felicity
