What Is Your Lenten Journey Leading To?
In this second week of Lent, as we lean into fasting, prayer and almsgiving, a question we are drawn to ponder is how we are growing and expanding our faith and interaction with God. Are our faith practices opening a way for more community with each other and with the ultimate community – the Holy Trinity? It is in reaching out to others and sharing what we have that we leave an open hand with which to receive. Alpha holds a unique place in our parish life, as encapsulates an opportunity to encounter God and grow new connections and community as we seek God together.
A week after Easter our first Alpha course of the year will commence. Alpha brings people together from different walks of life to ask and ponder the big questions. It is a perfect place to discover or discuss again what we believe with people of differing perspectives and offers a chance to invite and accompany someone who is searching and asking big questions in their life. During your Lenten journey I would challenge you to consider how you are pursuing growth and life in your faith and ask, Holy Spirit what is my next step? Alpha is a beautiful way to engage with others and with what you believe with fresh eyes. Fresh eyes allow us to see what has been hidden from us in plain sight. If you are curious, or have someone in mind that you would like to accompany, you can register right now as registrations are open.
The course will run on a Monday afternoon in Landsborough (commencing 28th April) and on a Tuesday evening in Caloundra (commencing 29th of April) and runs through until the 30th and 1st of July respectively. You can click HERE to register or contact the office and they can fill the form out for you over the phone- (Don’t delay as spots are limited). If you want to know more about Alpha contact the Parish office and they can connect you with someone to answer your questions.
Hope to see you there, Faith Formation Team.
