Service and Outreach Update

At the end of February, our Service & Outreach team partnered with Share-a-Meal to support one of their weekly outreach efforts in Happy Valley. Share-a-Meal provides home-cooked meals every Thursday for those in need in the Caloundra community. It originally started as a Catholic initiative and has ongoing involvement from some of our dedicated parishioners.

Our team was honoured to assist in preparing and serving a delicious selection of meals for the attendees. The meals were warmly received, and the experience was deeply rewarding for all involved. We look forward to continuing our support for this wonderful program in the future.

Looking ahead, the Service & Outreach team also has upcoming events connected to Laudato Si’ Week and Reconciliation Week. Please be sure to mark these in your calendar.

Laudato Si’ Week – Care for Creation. May 16 to 24
Laudato Si’ Week gives us an opportunity to renew our commitment to respond to the cries of the earth and the cries of the poor. As a part of this week, there will be a presentation by EnviroCom on “Recycling and War on Waste – A response to the call of Pope Francis in Laudato Si’”.
OLR Church, Wednesday 21 May 7.00pm – 8.00pm.

National Reconciliation Week. May 27 to 3 June.
With the theme of ‘Bridging Now to Next’ , Reconciliation Week urges us to look ahead and continue the push forward for reconciliation together. As a part of this week, special guest speakers Joni McCourt (Archdiocesan Ministries) and Ravina Waldren (Murri Ministry) will be hosting a morning tea and information session to explain what a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is and the advantages
for our Parish.

OLR Church Saturday, 31 May. Morning Tea 10.30am. Presentation 11.00am – 12.30 pm.
