Weekly Update 2021 NET Team

The last week of the school holidays was a lot of fun for us. One of the highlights was a day out at Noosa. The past week we had Fr Josh over for dinner, followed by a game of cards (Fr Josh will be looking to redeem himself in 500 next time). We also had the Gomez family over, who beat us at articulate on our own turf. All and all it was good to have a relaxed couple weeks off, but we are filled up and keen to get back to work in term 2.

Secular Franciscan Order Information Evening Tuesday 27 April

Secular Franciscans are ordinary lay Catholic men and women who follow Christ in the footsteps of St Francis of Assisi. We come from all walks of life – married, single, professional, students, diocesan clergy, young and old. We model our live on that of St Francis, going from Gospel to life, and from life to Gospel. Through prayer, contemplation and careful reading of Scripture we endeavour to simplify our needs, and serve God and neighbour – seeking to be ‘Instruments of Peace’. Could God be calling you? Please take a leaflet from the church. Please call Adrian Eldridge on 0431 761 072 to register for the information evening to be held at St Joseph’s Parish Church, 177 Currie St, Nambour.

2021 Prayer Calendar for Seminarians and Priests

It is natural to connect vocations with
Good Shepherd Sunday.

“Vocations are born in prayer and from prayer; and only in prayer can they persevere and bear fruit.” Pope Francis.

It is our duty and responsibility to pray for more vocations in our church. There are 23 seminarians in Holy Spirit seminary including four deacons who are in final preparations for their step to ordination.

One of those deacons is our own William Aupito Iuliano, who spent last year with us here in Caloundra. William will be Ordained to the priesthood later this year.

Holy Spirit Seminary has prepared a prayer calendar for 2021 which is available in our churches this weekend. Kindly take one of them from the entrance of the church and pray daily for our seminarians by name using the prayer given in the flyer.

We pray for all those who are discerning their vocation to a life of service as a priest or religious – may we be a community that supports their call.
