Annual Catholic Campaign

The parishes across our Archdiocese are taking part in the Annual Catholic Campaign this weekend. However, our parish will have it next weekend, 29-30th August, as we want to use this weekend to fully support our children receiving the First Holy Communion.

Through this campaign next weekend, we have an opportunity to contribute to the important work of the Archdiocese of Brisbane and to help bring Christ's hope, compassion and practical support to people throughout our community.

Campaign envelopes will be available at Masses next weekend. Please take an envelope home and prayerfully consider how you may contribute. Completed envelopes can be returned the following weekend. A QR code will also be provided nearer the time.

Anointing Masses - OLR & Sacred Heart Church

The Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament of healing and strength for those experiencing illness, ill health or the effects of ageing. Through anointing with the Oil of the sick, we are strengthened by Christ’s grace and the prayerful support of the Church community. Those who are unwell, experiencing serious illness or suffering from bad health are invited to receive the sacrament.

Our parish will celebrate two Anointing Masses in September:

Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Caloundra | Thursday 10th September  | 9am

Sacred Heart Church, Maleny | Sunday 13th September | 9am

Ignite Conference

Ignite Conference is not just for the youth. We want to invite you to consider joining our parish adult delegation to Ignite Conference 2026. This is an opportunity for encounter and discovery.

Ignite Conference is a vibrant, faith‑filled gathering in Brisbane from 24–27 September. The conference brings together people of all ages from across Australia who are passionate about growing the Church and encountering Jesus in a fresh way.

While Ignite has long impacted our young people, it offered a rich and inspiring experience for the adults that joined us last year. The Conference offers engaging speakers and workshops, worship, dynamic celebration of the sacraments and community with Catholics from across the nation. Please contact the office if you would like to find out more details regarding costs, accommodation and registration.

Volunteers Required

Our parish relies on the generosity of volunteers in many different ministries and areas. At this time, we would especially appreciate help in the following areas:

Flower Ministry – Due to ill health, John Cooper is stepping back from arranging the flowers and decorating OLR Church. We are looking for someone who would like to take over this ministry. Please directly contact John on 0409 897 673 if you would like to volunteer.

Parish Office Reception – Help welcome visitors, answer phone calls, and assist with reception duties. Training is provided. If you are available from 9:00am–12:00 noon Monday to Friday, and are interested in this role, please directly contact the parish office at caloundra@bne.catholic.net.au
