Re-Presenting Jesus: Sharing Christ in Contemporary Culture

This past week, on Wednesday morning at 6am, I, along with several other leaders in our parish, zoomed in to a world-wide video call with Fr James Mellon, creator of Divine Renovation ministry, Nicky and Pippa Gumble, creators of Alpha, and Jonathan Roumie, the actor who plays Jesus in the critically acclaimed series called, The Chosen – https://watch.thechosen.tv/

The 1 hour video was entitled, Re-Presenting Jesus: Sharing Christ in Contemporary Culture. I found it incredibly uplifting as we face the challenging, but opportunity-filled task of consolidating our parish Mass schedule in a way that we reimagine all our parish’s ministries in a missionary key. I recommend this video to every single parishioner at this time. If you struggle with internet technology, please ask someone to assist you so that we all have an opportunity to be uplifted at this time. The easiest way to watch the video is via clicking the following web address: https://www.youtube.com/live/HEznqBaQf2s

  • Have a Blessed Week, Fr Josh

Sisterhood Retreat

We’re only two weeks away from our parish women’s retreat on 23 November at Stella Maris Primary School. We want to extend this invitation to all women within our deanery to connect with and journey alongside other like-minded Catholics. This is a wonderful opportunity for the women as it’s through these encounters that we will come alive as a Church and people of faith.

We’re blessed to have Renee Doyle (Net Ministries) and Karen Doyle, (the founder of the Genius Project), speaking to us over the weekend. If you would like to learn more about this amazing event, check the maroochydoreparish.com.au website for more details, and to register – follow the links to our Sisterhood page. The weekend begins at 8:30am and finishes at 4pm. The cost is $40 per person. Just call the Parish Office 54433488 if you have any food all allergies etc.
We look forward to seeing you there.

A Taste of Taize

Taizé is a tiny village in France. Since 1940, it has been home to an ecumenical community of Brothers who pray very simply through chant. During wartime, Br Roger established this community as a place of welcome for Jews who were fleeing the Nazis. Taizé has always had a special solidarity with human suffering. Taizé is a symbol of hope and reconciliation. The Brothers take special interest in the poor and in youth who flock to Taizé to reflect on their lives and join in the sung prayer. Join in this beautiful prayer at OLR on Tuesday 10 Dec at 7pm. https://www.taize.fr/en

Parish Dinner Dance 26th April 2025

It’s been a while since our last big celebration. The parish is inviting all parishioners and friends to celebrate an evening filled with great food, entertainment and good fellowship. With the congregation now consisting of people with ancestry coming from over 24 countries, we want to take this as an opportunity to celebrate its cultural diversity and get together as single people of God. Let’s bring colour on the night and don your best frock.  Mark the date and watch this space in the future for details.

Merindah Summer Camp 2025

A Year of Invitation

My Lord and my God, you never cease to invite me to know, love and follow your Son, Jesus. Give me the grace and courage to be a channel of your love so that my “yes” to you becomes an invitation to others. I offer up my entire self – heart, mind and will – to your purpose for me. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

On the Journey
