Sacramental Celebration for Teenagers
Last Sunday, 24 November, on the Feast of Christ the King, twelve teenagers were fully initiated by Fr Francis into the Catholic Church, and welcomed into the 5pm Sunday Mass at Unity Chapel. These young people have been journeying throughout Term 4 in the RCIT (Rite of Christian Initiation for Teenagers) process and were joyfully joined by their families, godparents, and sponsors last weekend. Ben, Robbie, Asher, Marnie, and Nate were baptised, confirmed, and received their first holy communion. Liam, Issy, Andy, Lucas, Jacob, Alessandro, and Sophia were confirmed and received their first holy communion. It was a beautiful celebration and there was a large turnout from the 5pm Unity community to celebrate. A big thank you to the other catechists, Fr Gerard and Sandy Kay, who journeyed so closely with the students. Please continue to pray for them as they are sent out into the world, sealed by the holy spirit and ready to contribute to the mission of our parish, by actively accompanying other young people to encounter Jesus.

Welcome Eddy!
My name is Edward but you can call me Eddie or Eddy.. I am a seminarian currently studying at Holy Spirit Seminary in Banyo, Australia, under the Archdiocese of Brisbane. Originally from Nigeria, I have my educational background, having completed my philosophy studies and undertaken some theology in my home country.
My journey in the seminary began in Nigeria, where I was deeply engaged in my studies and spiritual formation. However, due to the insecurities and challenges prevalent in Nigeria, I was unable to complete my seminary education at that time.
Seeking to further my studies, I made the courageous decision to move to Australia. I landed in Sydney where I started doing my master’s degree. It was during this transition that I felt a renewed call from God to return to the seminary. Now in my first year at Holy Spirit Seminary, I am committed to deepening my faith and preparing for a life of service in the Church.
As part of my formation, I will be with you for a six week placement in Caloundra. I view this opportunity as a chance to immerse myself in the community and contribute meaningfully while continuing my spiritual growth and other aspects of formation. I am driven by a profound desire to follow God’s calling and serve others, and I pray for guidance and strength as I navigate this important phase of my journey. With a heart full of hope and faith, I am eager to embrace the challenges and blessings that lie ahead in my seminary formation and future ministry. Looking forward to meeting you all. Baptism Preparation Evening for Infants – Last one for 2024
We wish to remind parents with children up to the age of 7, wishing for them to be Baptized, that the next preparation meeting is at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Caloundra,
this Thursday 5th December 7-8pm (last one for the year). At this short preparation meeting we outline some of the symbols used at the ceremony, answer any questions and confirm dates.

Meeters and Greeters
Attention all Meeters and Greeters of all communities and anyone who would like to join this important Ministry.
As we move into these challenging, but exciting changes for our whole Parish, we would like to get together to celebrate our wins and look at how we will move forward.
We have allocated three different times over the weekend of 14th and 15th December to meet and discuss important issues and share a cuppa. This will be for 1 hour only and will be at Our lady of The Rosary.
Saturday 14th December is at 3.30pm
Sunday 15th December is at 7.30am and 10.30am.

How to Hear God’s Voice – Short Course
This informative and practical course runs for 3-weeks and includes video talks accompanied by prayer and discussion for those seeking to grow in knowing the voice of Jesus. The video content comes from the internationally renowned teacher and preacher Fr Mathias Thelen of Encounter Ministries. This course is open to any interested person from across the parish.

Early Christmas Stall – crafts and goodies
Made by the OLR church craft group, there will be hand made Christmas gifts before and after each mass at OLR on the weekend of the 30th November and 1st December. Please note this will be cash only.

All parishioners are invited to a joyous Advent celebration at Our Lady of the Way, Landsborough on Sunday, 1st December commencing at 3:00pm and followed by cool drinks and delicious nibblies.
A Taste of Taize
Taizé is a tiny village in France. Since 1940, it has been home to an ecumenical community of Brothers who pray very simply through chant. During wartime, Br Roger established this community as a place of welcome for Jews who were fleeing the Nazis. Taizé has always had a special solidarity with human suffering. Taizé is a symbol of hope and reconciliation. The Brothers take special interest in the poor and in youth who flock to Taizé to reflect on their lives and join in the sung prayer. Family Beach BBQ
The Children and Families Team warmly invites you to a Young Families Beach BBQ on Saturday, December 14th, at Happy Valley from 11am to 1pm. Join us for a morning of fellowship and fun as we come together to celebrate our parish community! We’ll have games and activities for the kids and a free sausage sizzle BBQ. All are welcome, especially families with infants, primary or high school aged kids!
Parish Dinner Dance 26th April 2025
It’s been a while since our last big celebration. The parish is inviting all parishioners and friends to celebrate an evening filled with great food, entertainment and good fellowship. With the congregation now consisting of people with ancestry coming from over 24 countries, we want to take this as an opportunity to celebrate its cultural diversity and get together as single people of God.
