Plenary Council

Last week’s Plenary Council concluded with much hope that we will have a clear way forward in respect to many important issues in our Australian church. While several extremely emotive topic dominated media attention, this Catholic Leader article offers a good summary with plenty of links to relevant sites where we can stay up to date with the decisions of the Council.

Parish Reconciliation Action Plan Group

Following last Saturday’s very informative screening of the Q&A session of Archbishop Mark  Coleridge and Dean Parkin on the Uluru Statement From the Heart, six people decided to work on developing a draft of a RAP based on the Archdiocesan Reconciliation Action Plan. Any  parishioners wishing to join this small working group are invited to contact the Parish Office as soon as possible.

Maleny Celebrations

On this Sunday 17 July, four of our young parishioners Diya, Levi, Jia and Joe will celebrate their Conformation during Mass. As well, Sonny will take his First Holy Communion. After Mass, in the Pat Daley Centre, parishioners are invited to share morning tea along with the cutting of the cake

Encounter Night

Last week on Wednesday, 60+ people gathered at OLR church for an evening of hospitality, testimony, worship and prayer – all aimed at facilitating an Encounter experience with Jesus Christ our Lord. Special thanks to Therese and Dom, owners of Domenico’s Restaurant, Kings Beach, for sponsoring the hospitality for the night: food and drinks. Thanks, also, to those who offered the sacrifice of their baptismal priesthood with their testimony, prayer ministry and the young adults who led us in our worship music. We look forward to the next Encounter opportunity – watch this space.

To Sing is to Pray Twice

All musicians, singers and members of choirs are invited to a Musical Cocktail Party on the Caloundra presbytery balcony on Tuesday 26th July at 5pm. While we promise that there will be no karaoke, Fr Josh will be “Chef   Joshua”, “Barman Fr Ejikeme” will pour the drinks and sous-chef Fr Peter will create the deserts!

Please RSVP to the Parish Office: [email protected] to help with catering.
