Service & Outreach

‘We have a dream that our Service and Outreach ministry will show Jesus’ radical love to those in the wider community who feel
marginalised, disconnected and vulnerable.’

Thank you to all those who completed the digital forms either on March 3rd or since then. We decided to trial a soft launch at the OLR 9.30 Mass only to concentrate our efforts. We encountered some issues regarding email addresses and people being unable to access the tablets on the day to fill in the form after Mass. Now that these issues have been resolved, we look
forward to a whole of parish launch hopefully commencing during Volunteer Week at the end of May.

The Brisbane Archdiocese has launched their Laudato Si: Caring for Our Common Home Action Plan for 2024-2026 and to quote from the message from Archbishop Mark “I encourage every family, parish, community, school, agency and institution in the Archdiocese to embrace this Laudato Si Action Plan. Much is being done already, but we all need to go further in responding to the Holy Father’s invitation to take the path of ecological conversion. This plan will help us all change the way we see the world around us and the way we act.” We will be forming our own parish group to create an action plan for our parish. If this is something that interests you, please contact Trish on the Service and Outreach email address listed.

We would like to thank those of you who have been donating to the parish via the Cash for Containers Scheme. Please find your nearest return point and use our scheme ID C11072500 or use the bins near the Dobson room at the OLR church.

Wishing you all a holy and happy Easter.
