Catholic Mission

Tuberculosis, malnutrition and maternal mortality are conditions all too familiar for the people of Timor-Leste.

In two weeks’ time we will learn about the work of the Salesian Sisters, including nurse, Sister Carolina, who desires to see better outcomes for her community. We will also share the story of Petrolina and her daughter’s desperate need for medical attention.

We have the opportunity to partner with this life-giving work, and your prayers and generosity are crucial in ensuring this program can continue.

Invitation to James Alison tour

On Thursday, 12th October at 6.00pm, Bishop Tim Norton will host a discussion panel with Fr James Alison at Stella Maris Primary School, (5 Stella Way, Maroochydore).  Fr James Alison is notable throughout the world for bringing the theology of the great French thinker, René Girard, to a wider public. He has also known for his firm but patient insistence on truthfulness in matters concerning same-sex attracted Catholics in a Catholic setting. If you are interested in hearing from him, come along to the Stella Maris Primary School for a conversation that promises to be enlightening and enriching. https://jamesalison.com/

Community Life Ministry

Community Life vision: cultivate a burning desire to belong within the Our Lady of the Rosary Parish faith community by facilitating experiences of connection and participation”.

Progress is happening!!

Over 130 badges have been ordered over the past 3 months and being proudly worn. Parishioners can get to know each other more now than merely by facial recognition. Many Masses are well-covered with greeters welcoming parishioners at the entries before Mass starts. OLR 9:30am Mass morning teas have increased from one to three, monthly. Congratulations to Cristina and Edgar and their team-Evelyn, Paul and Cathy who have started

serving morning tea at the 4th Sunday at Caloundra after 9:30am mass. We are planning Our Lady of the Rosary feast day for Oct 7 from 4pm, everyone is welcome.

But we need your help, please!!
Hospitality at OLR Masses: More parishioners are invited to step up and help serve or bring food. Home-baked or commercial cakes and packets of biscuits etc are perfect and can be dropped off in the kitchen before Mass.
Please contact the parish office with any offers of help.

In Transition

We welcome Louie Rouse, Winnie Walton, Ellie & Layla Hilton who will be baptised at OLR Caloundra this weekend.

As a parish family we would like to congratulate Chris Guerra & Saisha Ferguson who will be married at the Chapel Montville this week.

We pray for Derek Perry who died last week and his funeral will be at Maleny on the 4 October 11.00am. We also pray for Mike Lawton who died last week.

We pray that all the souls of our loved ones who have gone before us and the souls of our deceased priests, religious and parishioners Rest in Peace. Rest in Peace.
