Meet Dawn Morrison

How long have you been a parishioner?

I’ve been a parishioner at OLR for longer than I can remember – more than 50 years!

Where is your place of worship?

My regular place of Worship is at Our Lady of the Rosary Church – usually attending the 5.30pm Vigil Mass and weekly morning masses when I can.
I have also regularly celebrated mass at the Blessed Frederic Ozanam Chapel at Currimundi ever since it opened.

What is your favourite prayer/devotion?

The Memorare and the Rosary are my favourite prayers. The Memorare is a prayer that reminds me that we have a wonderful advocate and protector in Our Lady. I talk to Our Lady every day and wait for her answer  🙂

Would you like to share your experience of God’s love?

God and His love has always been part of my life – since I was born. He chose me!

What is your most important practice in ‘living your faith’ as a disciple?

Again, i can’t remember a time, even as a child, where i haven’t lived my faith. Faith is an individual and personal journey.

What do you most enjoy about being a part of the parish community?

Being part of parish life has always been part of my DNA. Even as a child, parish life, and being a part of the Church community was part of my family and upbringing.

Ever since I’ve been a parishioner here, I’ve always wanted to support people and provide pastoral care, the same way the church and parish supported me and walked with me during a challenging time in my life. I want to give back!

Dawn Morrison was nominated by so many parishioners in our community for her years of service and dedication; for always coming to the aid of anyone at our ‘door’; and for always seeing them as a human being, treating people with respect and love. Thank you Dawn for finally participating in this feature!

Faithful Servants is a regular feature of the ever-present ‘servants of the faith’ across our local parish community.

Please email Bernadette Bain, if you would like to nominate a parishioner for this feature. We want to celebrate and feature every parishioner in our parish family!
