Meet Therese Pecora

How long have you been a parishioner?

I started coming 2007, but only very occasionally.  Since Covid restricted my business hours I have been able to come regularly for the last 2 ½ years.  (Silver linings!)

Where is your place of worship?

Most of the time I attend Caloundra OLR church.

What is your favourite prayer/devotion?

My favourite prayer is the Rosary.  Apart from praying in my home, I love praying the Rosary on the first Saturdays, or after mass on Saturday.  I also love the peace and devotion of Adoration – it is a very powerful way to experience God’s loving presence – and the Women’s Prayer Group for growth in God’s love with many new friends!

What is one experience of your faith and God’s love?

I am loving my faith journey! There are so many avenues in our parish community to help and guide our way towards God. In particular, I found Alpha opened my heart to accept the Holy Spirit within me in a real and tangible way.  I feel God’s presence and love in the mass.  What used to feel like an obligation, chore, now feels like joy.

How do you like to live out your faith as a ‘faithful servant’?

I take every opportunity now to learn more about my faith. I read every day, pray the Rosary, go to mass as many times as I can.  I find I am open now about my faith to others.

What do you most enjoy about being a part of the parish community?

There is so many ways to get involved in our parish and I wish everyone would see how much they could enjoy being a part of it.  It has so much to offer and could do so much more.   I thank God for my parish, and the wonderful friends I have made here.
