Meet Horacio Passeggi
How long have you been a parishioner?
We moved to Australia in 1997 and since then we have been at the Stella Maris Parish (where I did the RCIA and became a fully Catholic. I was
baptised at the age of 22 years to be able to marry in the Catholic Faith my wife of almost 50 years).
In 2013 we moved to Caloundra and were sharing between OLR and Stella Maris.
Post Covid me started going to Unity and never looked back.
Where is your place of worship?
5.00pm Sunday Mass at Unity College
What is your favourite prayer/devotion?
It has always been the Our Father and Hail Mary. Although now I am full on with the YES prayer!
How do you like to live out your faith?
Since I started with the YES prayer I am always in the look of where to put it into practice.
I have my special place in the house where every morning I have my readings, prayers and reflections before starting the day.
What is your experience of God’s love?
My family and me have been overly blessed by God and I am still wondering why. There were many times when I felt His presence in my life, but never so much as 20 years ago.
We were going to be deported from Australia and the Stella Maris Parish took the fight against the Government. God was at our side and after six months of struggle we were given our permanent residency.
What do you most enjoy about being a part of the parish community?
Having the chance to serve others and being rewarded by God’s love.
Faithful Servants is a regular feature of the ever-present ‘servants of the faith’ across our local parish community.
Please email Bernadette Bain, if you would like to nominate someone for this feature.
