Youth and Young Adults Ministry

Hey friends! So much has been happening in the youth and young adult space since the year began and it is a great joy of mine to share some of those fruits with you. Thank you to all of those who have prayed for this ministry, and who continue to donate their resources and time to us.

Our youth group: Kingdom Youth: has started for the year. Kingdom Youth is for high schoolers in Years 7 – 12. We gather each Friday night from 6pm – 8:30pm at Unity College. Last week, we had an incredible 64 students in attendance. We shared a meal and played some games before moving into the chapel to hear some input and to be led in praise and worship by our incredible youth leaders and band. This term we are focusing on the Holy Spirit, and how we can seek out and utilise the opportunities around us to experience moments of encounter. This past   Friday night we looked at the gifts and fruits of the Spirit, and how they are at work in our lives today. If you have a high schooler in your life, we would love to meet and support them! Please reach out to me via email.

Our young adult group-Kingdom YA– has also been very busy. Meeting weekly on Wednesdays, the group is for those between the ages of 18 – 30 who are seeking community. We offer a range of opportunities (social events, prayer opportunities, and formation nights) each month. Recently, the Sisters of Mary Morning Star visited us from Brisbane to speak on the topic of vocations, followed by a small dinner, and Adoration. On Saturday, we gathered together in Kenilworth for a retreat day led by Fr Francis as a Lenten check-in. Our schedule included morning prayer, input, a hike, lunch, and Mass. Next Wednesday, we will be gathering socially and would love to meet some new friends. Please let me know if you would like more details!

You can follow us on Instagram for all event info @kingdom.caloundra. Please email myself and the team at [email protected] for any enquiries.

Take care,

Felicity, Kathryn, Erin, and Elijah (Youth & YA Team)
