Connect Groups This Lent

Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on 18 February, and parishioners are warmly invited to commit—at least for the season of Lent—to being part of a Connect Group. This invitation is intentionally simple and time-bound: journey together for these sacred forty days. Some may choose to continue beyond Lent, but the starting point is just this shared season of prayer, reflection, and accompaniment.

Connect Groups reflect a necessary and hopeful vision for our parish. In a community of our size, pastoral care can no longer rest on clergy alone—it belongs to all of us. Meeting regularly, usually in one another’s homes and formed by locality, these groups will become places of encouragement, prayer, and support.

With a clear and simple structure, they focus not on long meetings or expertise, but on hospitality, consistency, and faith shared honestly. This is more than another program; it is an invitation to belong, to be known, and to walk together as disciples of Jesus.

If you are interested in joining a Connect Group, or simply finding out more, please click HERE to register or contact the Parish Office to assist.

This Is Your Invitation To Dive Deeper – Registration Details Coming Next Week

Diving Deeper is an exciting formation opportunity for those looking to learn more and grow more in your faith. Do you feel like you’re not sure where to go next with the growth in your faith journey – then Diving Deeper is for you. This program will be a chance to learn more about the roots of our Catholic faith in the Bible. As a group, we will journey along with noted Catholic biblical scholar, Dr Mary Healy, as she takes us on a faith and journey of encounter along with the apostles as we walk through the Acts of the Apostles and the foundation of the church. Come and join us:

Start Date: Monday 23rd February (meeting fortnightly)

Time: 6pm

Location: Dobson Room Parish Centre

Ladies Lunch

The next Ladies Lunch will be on Friday 13th February at 12 noon at Kings Beach Surf Club 1 Spender Lane Kings Beach. All ladies are welcome to attend. This is a great way to meet other ladies and make new friends. Please contact Deborah 0410531901 by Monday 9th February to register your attendance!

Art Classes Resume!

A couple of weeks ago, our wonderful parishioner – and artist – Jude, held a Seniors “Dabbling in Paint” event! The morning involved much creativity, fun, and friendship in the room and some truly beautiful artworks to show for it. If you would like to continue with some weekly art classes, they resume on Wednesday 11th February, 10am-12pm at the Parish Centre. Bring a paint easel and canvas. For more information phone Jude on 0421777508.

A Year of Yes Prayer

Today and every day I say Yes to you O Lord.
In the same way that Mary said yes to your invitation, I say Yes to your Son’s presence in my life.
May my yes, by the power of your Holy Spirit, allow you to use all the talents, skills and gifts you have given me for the purpose of building up Your Body in our community.
We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.
