Our Lady of the Rosary Feast Day

Remember to join us for our Parish Feast Day on Wednesday, 7 October, at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, as we honour Our Lady of the Rosary, our parish’s patroness.

There will be a group Rosary at 8:15am and a Mass at 9:00am, followed by morning tea and fellowship. All parishioners, families, friends and visitors are welcome.

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us!

Ladies Lunch

Ladies of the parish are invited to our next Ladies Lunch on Friday, 9 October at 12 noon at Golden Beach Tavern, 32 Bowman Road, Caloundra.

All ladies are most welcome! Please RSVP to Linda on 0429 380 979 by Monday, 5 October.

Adoration

When Catholics say they are “going to Adoration,” they are typically referring to Eucharistic Adoration, which is the worship of the Eucharist outside of the Mass. The Eucharistic Host is displayed in a monstrance on the altar so that all can see and pray in the presence of Christ.

Please check the Parish Diary for Adoration times and locations. We’d love to see you there!

Annuals 2027

Don’t forget to order your liturgical resources for 2027 by Friday, October 9. Email Vicki at the parish office, with your name, payment, and mass centre.

Break Open the Word’ $30 | ‘Ordo’ $25 | ‘Daily Mass Book’ $30

This year, the Parish Office will cover the cost of Break Open the Word for reading ministers at any of our Mass Centres. Normal costing applies for anyone else.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Teens (RCIT)

RCIT is a journey for teenagers (12-17) who are interested in becoming Catholic or who have not yet received all of the Sacraments of Initiation. It provides a space to explore the Catholic faith, ask questions, grow in relationship with Jesus Christ and discover life in the Church.

The journey includes prayer, Scripture, catechesis, conversation and participation in parish life, with teenagers accompanied by members of our parish community. Each teenager is supported according to their circumstances as they prepare for the Sacraments of Initiation.

RCIT begins Friday, 9 October. To register please click HERE

Seniors Event – October

Final week to register! Join us for a pilgrimage to Marian Valley on Tuesday, 13 October, marking the anniversary of the final apparition of Our Lady of Fatima. The bus departs OLR at 7:30am. $40 per person, including morning tea and lunch. Places are limited, with some walking involved.

Places on the bus are limited, so please register HERE and include payment to secure your seat.

Catholic Mission – World Mission Sunday

World Mission Sunday is coming up on Sunday, 18 October. As one Church united in Christ, we are invited to pray for missionaries and communities around the world and support the Church’s missionary work through our generosity.

This year marks 100 years of World Mission Sunday, with the theme “One in Christ, united in mission.”

In two weeks, we will hear the story of Yamikani, a young boy in rural Malawi who faces hardship on his daily journey to school, and Fr Matthew Semba, who is working to build a school closer to home so children like Yamikani can learn safely and hope for a brighter future.

The Peace Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life.
