MLT Planning Day – 17th February

Last Saturday, our Ministry Leadership Teams gathered for our Annual Planning Day, a meaningful time of prayer, reflection, and collaboration as we reflected on the year prior and planned for the year ahead.

A heartfelt thank you to the Arch Min Team: Teresa, Chantale, Vanessa, and Amy, who joined us and generously gave their time, guidance, and support to help facilitate the day. Your leadership and encouragement were truly appreciated.

The Spirit is truly alive and at work in our Parish. It was a joy to witness the energy in the room as our Ministry Areas shared ideas, listened deeply to one another, and discovered the many ways their work connects and complements each other.

Seeing ministries collaborate and support one another, recognizing their shared mission and working together as one unified parish community, was both inspiring and affirming.

We look forward with hope and gratitude to all that lies ahead as we continue this shared journey together.

Invitation to a Conversation: Shaping Our Ministry to the Lonely/Grieving/Isolated

In every season of life, Jesus meets us with compassion—and often He does so through the presence of others. Over recent years, our parish Grief Support ministry has quietly and faithfully accompanied those experiencing loss. We now sense an invitation to pause, reflect, and discern together how this ministry might grow and respond more broadly to the needs of our community.

We are inviting interested parishioners to join a conversation about the best way forward for this ministry to expanding its focus from grief support alone to a more encompassing Compassion & Connection Ministry—one that offers presence, listening, friendship, and gentle accompaniment to people navigating grief, loneliness, illness, life transitions, or times of hardship.

This is not a meeting with predetermined outcomes, but a space for prayerful discussion, shared wisdom, and discernment about how we might best serve others in this season of parish life. If you have a compassionate heart, value human connection, or simply feel curious about how our parish can walk more intentionally with those in need, you are warmly encouraged to attend. Your voice, insight, and prayerful presence will be an important part of shaping what comes next. Please note that no RSVP is necessary. Fr Josh.

When: Saturday 31 January
Time: 10:00am
Where: Egan Room, Parish Centre, Caloundra

Planned Giving (Envelopes) – Now Available At Each Mass Centre

Thank you for so generously sharing your treasure to help sustain and support our parish community. Your ongoing commitment makes a meaningful difference to our mission and ministries.

We have reissued envelopes to current givers at each Mass Centre. Please note you will have a new number. If you are able, we kindly ask you to consider changing to direct debit as a convenient and reliable way to give. If this option suits you, or if you cannot find your envelope this weekend, please contact the parish office during the coming week and we will be happy to assist you.

Attention Pastoral Carers (Home Communion Ministers)

The annual gathering will be held on Wednesday 28 January, from 9.30am to 11.30am in the Egan Room. Pastoral Carers are strongly encouraged to attend, as important matters will be discussed, including the Anointing of the Sick and priest availability for 2026, among other topics.

Those who are unable to attend are asked to notify the parish office.

Fencing – OLR Primary School

Dear Parishioners, I pray that you all experienced a blessed and joyous festive season.

You may have noticed the new boundary fence that is being built around the school. This fence is to assist with the security of the school grounds, as well as a proactive child safety measure while school is in session. This fence will impact your Mass parking arrangements on Alfred Street. The school carpark on Alfred Street will be closed from Friday afternoon, the 30th of January. The new fence will not impact parking arrangements in the Edmund street carpark.

I thank you in advance for your understandingGrant Haigh, Principal.

A Year of Yes Prayer

Today and every day I say Yes to you O Lord.
In the same way that Mary said yes to your invitation, I say Yes to your Son’s presence in my life.
May my yes, by the power of your Holy Spirit, allow you to use all the talents, skills and gifts you have given me for the purpose of building up Your Body in our community.
We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.

On the Journey

We pray for those who have been recently Baptised into the Church.
May they be guided by their parents/caregivers as they grow in faith.

We also pray for the souls of our deceased priests, religious and parishioners.

May they Rest in Peace.
