Encounter Night

Our parish recently hosted a powerful Encounter Night, gathering people together for an evening of deep encounter with Jesus.

It was a truly uplifting evening that included worship, a keynote message, personal testimony, and time for prayer and adoration. It was a beautiful opportunity during this Lenten season to pause, listen, and respond, and many present experienced a deep encounter with Jesus.

We were delighted to welcome Peter Pelicaan, Executive Director of Archdiocesan Ministries, who shared powerfully from his experience of evangelisation and the importance of community in drawing people into a deeper relationship with Christ.

Thank you to all those involved in the planning & execution of the night.

This Youth group is aimed at children in Grade 3-6. These evenings are opportunities to hang out and explore the faith in an accessible way, participate in games and activities, engage with input that helps build understanding of who Jesus is in their lives, and build friendships with likeminded kids in the parish.

We hope to see you there!

Come Away and Pray

Join us for a special morning with Sr Jone and the Sisters of Mary Morning Star as they share practical wisdom to renew our prayer life during the Lenten season.

Through inspiring talks and small group discussions this promises to be a beautiful morning of reflection and drawing closer to the Lord.

This free event will take place on Tuesday, March 17, Our Lady of the Rosary, 10am – 1pm. Please RSVP via the Parish Linktree.

This is a free event sponsored by Holy Cross Funerals; all are warmly welcome.

Sacrament of Reconciliation / Confession

Everyone sometimes does things they regret or perhaps they know they shouldn’t have, which is why the Sacrament of Reconciliation is so important. The sacrament is one of healing which reminds us that no matter what we have done, God loves us and is ready to forgive. Through confession, penance and absolution, we speak to God about our sins and receive His mercy. Confessing our sins can feel uncomfortable, but the Church protects the privacy of every penitent.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available every Saturday morning at OLR Church from 9:00–9:45am.

Our Second (Communal) Rite Reconciliation also takes place at 9am on 21 March OLW (Landsborough) and 9 am 28 March at OLR (Caloundra)

Term 2 -Sacrament of Confirmation

All baptised children from grade 3 and up are welcome to celebrate their Confirmation in Term 2. The program starts on 21st April at 5-6pm in the OLR Church, and runs for 6 weeks with the Confirmation ceremony on Friday 5th June. Session 1 has been pushed back a week due to 29 May Maleny Show Holiday.

You will need to attend all sessions to be able to celebrate the sacrament.

To register, please join Flocknote, fill out the details for your family and complete the registration forms via the appropriate links:

Archbishop Shane Mackinlay invites everyone to the annual Chrism Mass, an important Holy Week liturgy where the Bishop blesses the holy oils used for sacraments throughout the year — the Oil of Chrism, the Oil of the Sick, and the Oil of Catechumens. The Mass is also a sign of unity between the bishop, priests, and the people of the Archdiocese, and includes the renewal of priestly promises.

The Chrism Mass will be celebrated on Thursday 26 March at 7:00pm at the Cathedral of St Stephen, Brisbane.

This is a celebration for the entire Archdiocese, and all are warmly welcome to attend.

A Year of Yes Prayer

Today and every day I say Yes to you O Lord.
In the same way that Mary said yes to your invitation, I say Yes to your Son’s presence in my life.
May my yes, by the power of your Holy Spirit, allow you to use all the talents, skills and gifts you have given me for the purpose of building up Your Body in our community.
We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.
