Open House Event – Divine Renovation
Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Caloundra, invites parish leaders and parishioners to a one-day gathering, Open House. The event will be held on Saturday 6 June, from 9:15am to 4:15pm, with an optional 5:00pm Mass at Our Lady of the Rosary Church.
The day will include four sessions focused on strengthening parish life through leadership, mission, and community:
- Lay Leadership – Leading with Responsibility and Authority: Exploring how empowering lay leaders under the guidance of the parish priest—supports both pastoral and administrative life.
- Welcome and Hospitality – From Attendance to Belonging: How intentional welcome and connection after Mass can foster a sense of belonging.
- Parish and Schools – A Shared Mission: A panel discussion with local principals, Fr Gerard, and the Youth Minister on collaboration, challenges, and opportunities in faith formation.
- Budgets – From Maintenance to Mission – Stewarding Resources for Renewal: Practical stewardship of finances, assets, and volunteer time, aligning resources with the parish mission.
This is a free event, proudly sponsored by Holy Cross Funerals. For catering purposes, please register HERE.
Major Relic
Save the date for Friday 3rd of July. A 1st Class Relic of St Carlo Acutis will be coming to Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Caloundra.
This will be a special opportunity for prayer and veneration, as we welcome the relic of this young saint whose life continues to inspire many, especially young people, to grow in faith and devotion to the Eucharist. More details will be shared soon.
Seniors Event – May: Beerwah’s Bush Mass
The Seniors Group is organising a visit to Beerwah’s Bush Mass, which will be held at 9:00 am on Friday, 29th May. This event presents a wonderful opportunity for members to come together and participate in the Mass, followed by a relaxed morning tea.
If you would like to join us for this outing, please register HERE. For those who require it, transport can be arranged upon request.
Compassion & Care
The Compassion and Care Group (formerly Grief Support) invites all parishioners to a monthly morning tea following the 9am Mass on Friday 15th May in the OLR Parish Centre. Everyone is welcome. The group meets every three weeks, offering a space for support, and conversation.
Encounter Night
Join us for our next Encounter Night, “Encore,” on Friday 19 June at Unity Chapel, Caloundra West, hosted by Kingdom Youth.
Inspired by the idea of an encore at a concert, this theme invites us to reflect on the time we are living in – Christ has died, risen, and ascended, and we now wait in hope for His return. Yet has not left us. Jesus remains present to us in His Church, drawing us into relationship with Him even now.
The evening will include worship and time for Eucharistic Adoration, creating space to pause, pray, and encounter the presence of Christ.
Our Youth will meet from 6pm at Unity College for games and fun while adults will be treated to drinks and delicious nibbles over fellowship from 6:15pm – 7pm.
All are welcome to come along for this powerful night of prayer. Register HERE.
Ignite Conference
We want to invite you to consider joining our parish adult delegation to Ignite Conference 2026. This is an opportunity for encounter and discovery.
Ignite Conference is a vibrant, faith‑filled gathering in Brisbane from 24–27 September. The conference brings together people of all ages from across Australia who are passionate about growing the Church and encountering Jesus in a fresh way.
While Ignite has long impacted our young people, it offered a rich and inspiring experience for the adults that joined us last year. The Conference offers engaging speakers and workshops, worship, dynamic celebration of the sacraments and community with Catholics from across the nation. Please contact the office if you would like to find out more details regarding costs, accommodation and registration.
New Parish Security & Access System
We are introducing a new keyless access system for Our Lady of the Rosary Church and Parish Centre, alongside the installation of a CCTV system. These upgrades are important steps in strengthening our commitment to safeguarding people, property, and parish life.
At present, our key system is largely unregulated – with no control over copies of keys. The new system will allow us to maintain an accurate and up-to-date record of those accessing our buildings, ensuring greater accountability. This is particularly important as we look to the future, with both priests soon to be living off-site, making enhanced security measures essential.
The addition of CCTV will further support a safe environment for all who use our facilities, acting as both a deterrent and a means of protection.
If you currently have access to the church or parish centre – whether through a key or the lock box – and will require ongoing access, please contact Vicki at the parish office via email – all existing keys will no longer provide access. This will help us ensure a smooth transition to the new system and that appropriate access is maintained. Thank you for your cooperation and support in this important initiative.
St Vincent de Paul
The five local conferences would like to thank you for your generous support of our Winter Appeal. All proceeds will be spent in the local community in support of those in need. If you took the envelope home you are most welcome to place it in the collection basket at any future mass.
A Year of Yes Prayer
Today and every day I say Yes to you O Lord.
In the same way that Mary said yes to your invitation, I say Yes to your Son’s presence in my life.
May my yes, by the power of your Holy Spirit, allow you to use all the talents, skills and gifts you have given me for the purpose of building up Your Body in our community.
We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.
