Welcome Father Minje Kim

Fr Minje Kim is a priest of the Archdiocese of Brisbane, newly appointed as the Associate Pastor of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Caloundra, following his ministry at the Ipswich Catholic Community.

Born and raised in Busan, South Korea, Fr Minje grew up within the Catholic faith and developed an early appreciation for the life of the Church and the importance of the Eucharist. He served as a youth coordinator and musician at his previous parish in Korea, and his active involvement in ministry led him to enter the seminary in Korea. After several years of formation and completing his compulsory military service in the Korean Army, he left the major seminary and gained a variety of life and work experiences, including driving a bus in his hometown and undertaking voluntary service with people affected by leprosy. During this period, he also planned an overseas journey and eventually came to Brisbane, where he began actively discerning his vocation to the priesthood.

After his initial discernment with the assistance of Vocation Brisbane in 2017, Fr Minje entered Holy Spirit Seminary, Banyo, and pursued theological studies through Australian Catholic University. His academic interests include liturgy, pastoral theology, and theological anthropology, particularly the relationship between faith, worship, and the human experience.

Ordained to the priesthood on 29 June 2023 for the Archdiocese of Brisbane, Fr Minje has served the Ipswich Catholic Community with a strong commitment to pastoral accompaniment and helping people discover meaning and hope through the celebration of the sacraments. In his pastoral ministry, he strives to remain willing, confident, and joyful in helping others. Fr Minje values time spent

We are grateful for the many ways he serves our parish and for his commitment to leading others closer to Christ.

Please join us in congratulating Fr Josh on this milestone and keeping him in your prayers this week, asking God to continue to bless and strengthen him in his priesthood in the years ahead.

Open House Event – Divine Renovation

Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Caloundra, invites parish leaders and members of parish communities to join us for a one-day gathering called Open House.

Open House is a chance for us to open the doors of our parish and share some of our journey of renewal. Shaped by our partnership with Divine Renovation Ministry, the day is less about presentations and more about hospitality—making space to connect, share what we’ve been learning, and hear from others. There will be opportunities throughout the day to hear stories, explore key ideas around parish renewal, and take part in conversations that spark new thinking and encouragement. The aim is to create a space where people can speak openly, ask questions, and learn from one another.

The event takes place on Saturday 6th June from 9:15am – 4:15pm with an optional 5pm mass at Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Caloundra.

This event is proudly sponsored by Holy Cross Funerals.

If you would like to attend this free event, then please sign up HERE

A Year of Yes Prayer

Today and every day I say Yes to you O Lord.
In the same way that Mary said yes to your invitation, I say Yes to your Son’s presence in my life.
May my yes, by the power of your Holy Spirit, allow you to use all the talents, skills and gifts you have given me for the purpose of building up Your Body in our community.
We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.
