World Day for Grandparents & Elderly

On 25-26th July, the Church celebrates the World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly, established by Pope Francis in 2021 and celebrated each year near the Feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, the grandparents of Jesus.

This year’s theme, “I will never forget you” (Isaiah 49:15), reminds us to give thanks for the love, wisdom, faith, and example of our grandparents and elderly parishioners. It also encourages us to reach out to those who may be lonely or isolated, recognising the important place they hold in the life of the Church.

If you’re able, consider inviting your grandparents or an elderly family member, friend, or neighbour to join you for Mass that weekend. We’ll also gather for tea and coffee afterwards, a simple opportunity to spend time together and ensure that no one celebrates the day alone.

Unlocking the Bible

Join us for Unlocking the Bible, a monthly opportunity to grow in confidence with Scripture and deepen your relationship with Christ. Whether you’re new to reading the Bible or have been studying it for years, these sessions offer practical insights to help you better understand God’s Word and apply it to everyday life.

Our next session will be held on Thursday, July 23rd at 4:00pm at OLR, Caloundra, presented by Beth Davies. Come along to explore the richness of Scripture, ask questions, and grow in faith alongside others in our parish community.

Seniors Wellbeing Presentation

All seniors are invited to join us on Thursday, July 30th, at 10:00am in the Egan Room, Parish Centre, for an engaging presentation on wellbeing by Peggie Zih—Naturopath, CranioSacral Therapist, and Wellbeing Coach. Peggie has recently presented to audiences across the Sunshine Coast libraries and is known for her informative and interactive presentations.

Please bring a plate to share beforehand. To assist with catering and seating, please register HERE

 Men Alive MAX 2026 Conference

After 22 years of reaching men across Australia and New Zealand, menALIVE to the MAX is returning to Queensland for a limited time — and for the very first time, coming to the Sunshine Coast!

MAX26 OCEANS is a powerful weekend faith experience for men. Some describe it as a gathering, others as a modern retreat — but all agree it is a memorable and life-giving experience. Men can choose to stay on site for the full weekend or attend during the day and return home in the evening. With a range of engaging and practical workshops, there is something for everyone.

Many women already pray for and encourage the men in their lives — husbands, sons, nephews, and friends — to take up opportunities like this. If you’re a man, why not be curious? Come along and bring a mate or two.

This is a ticketed event, please register HERE by July 23rd.

RCIA

RCIA is for adults interested in becoming Catholic, receiving the Sacraments, or learning more about the Catholic faith. The next RCIA journey begins in September. Those considering RCIA are encouraged to attend Alpha, which begins on 18 July (see below).

To express your interest in RCIA, please contact the Parish and fill out the enrolment form HERE

We are also looking for volunteers who will sponsor another adult through their RCIA journey. Please contact the parish office if you are interested.

A Year of Yes Prayer

Today and every day I say Yes to you O Lord.
In the same way that Mary said yes to your invitation, I say Yes to your Son’s presence in my life.
May my yes, by the power of your Holy Spirit, allow you to use all the talents, skills and gifts you have given me for the purpose of building up Your Body in our community.
We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.
