Our Lady of the Rosary Feast Day
All parishioners, families, friends, and visitors are warmly invited to join us as we celebrate our Parish’s Feast Day on Wednesday, 7 October, at Our Lady of the Rosary Church.
This special celebration is an opportunity for us to come together as one parish community, to give thanks to God for the many blessings we have received, and to honour Our Lady of the Rosary, our parish’s patroness.
Our parish is more than simply a place where we gather for Mass. It is a community of faith in which we pray together, support one another, celebrate joyful occasions, and accompany each other through the different moments of life. Our Feast Day gives us a wonderful opportunity to celebrate this shared life of faith and to renew our commitment to following Christ on His missionary Journey together.
The day will begin with the Rosary at 8:15 am, followed by the Feast Day Mass at 9:00 am. After Mass, everyone is warmly invited to stay for morning tea and enjoy some time of friendship and fellowship with members of our parish community.
Come and celebrate with us in prayer, thanksgiving, joy, and community spirit as we entrust our parish once again to the loving intercession of Our Lady of the Rosary.

Ladies Lunch
Ladies of the parish are invited to our next Ladies Lunch on Friday, 9 October at 12 noon at Golden Beach Tavern, 32 Bowman Road, Caloundra.

Pray with Pope Leo: One Million Children Praying the Rosary
From 1-7 October, Aid to the Church in Need invites you to join with Pope Leo XIV and Catholics worldwide for the One Million Children Praying the Rosary prayer campaign, for peace and unity in the world. Families, parishioners, prayer groups, and schools are all encouraged to register to take part!

Break Open the Word’ $30 | ‘Ordo’ $25 | ‘Daily Mass Book’ $30
This year, the Parish Office will cover the cost of Break Open the Word for reading ministers at any of our Mass Centres. Normal costing applies for anyone else.
Reconciliation Action Plan Group
The OLR Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Group invites parishioners to a presentation on First Nations Land Management and Environmental Expertise, exploring how First Nations peoples sustainably cared for the Australian landscape over thousands of years.
The morning includes a Welcome to Country by Dr Aunty Hope O’Chin AM, Kabi Kabi Traditional Custodian, followed by a presentation from Fiona Magill, Chairperson of the Sunshine Coast Reconciliation Group Inc.
This will take place on Monday, 12 October at 10:30am–12 noon (doors open 10:00am) at Hope Dreaming Information Centre, Caloundra

Rite of Christian Initiation for Teens (RCIT)
RCIT is a journey for teenagers (12-17) who are interested in becoming Catholic or who have not yet received all of the Sacraments of Initiation. It provides a space to explore the Catholic faith, ask questions, grow in relationship with Jesus Christ and discover life in the Church.
The journey includes prayer, Scripture, catechesis, conversation and participation in parish life, with teenagers accompanied by members of our parish community.
Each teenager is supported according to their circumstances as they prepare for the Sacraments of Initiation. To find out more please click HERE
Seniors Event – October
Join us for a full-day pilgrimage to Marian Valley, the Brisbane Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady Help of Christians, on Tuesday, 13 October. A bus will depart from OLR Caloundra at 7:30am, giving us the opportunity to spend the day together in prayer and pilgrimage at this beautiful Marian shrine.
The pilgrimage will coincide with the anniversary of the final apparition of Our Lady of Fatima, providing a special opportunity to mark this significant day together. There will be some walking involved throughout the day, so please keep this in mind when deciding whether the pilgrimage is suitable for you.
Morning tea and lunch will be provided, and the cost of the pilgrimage is $40 per person. The bus will return to Caloundra in the late afternoon/evening, depending on traffic.
Places on the bus are limited, so please register HERE and include payment to secure your seat.
World Day for Migrants and Refugees
This Sunday, the Church celebrates the 112th World Day of Migrants and Refugees. This year, Pope Leo XIV’s message focuses particularly on migrant children, reminding us that every child and every human person possesses an infinite dignity, created in the image and likeness of God.
The Pope calls us to see, welcome and care for those who can easily become overlooked or unheard, recalling Jesus’ words: “I was a stranger and you welcomed me” (Mt 25:35). As a parish community, we are invited to pray for migrants and refugees and to consider how we can help create a community where all are welcomed and supported.
A Year of Yes Prayer
Today and every day I say Yes to you O Lord.
In the same way that Mary said yes to your invitation, I say Yes to your Son’s presence in my life.
May my yes, by the power of your Holy Spirit, allow you to use all the talents, skills and gifts you have given me for the purpose of building up Your Body in our community.
We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.

On the Journey
We pray for Thomas & Charlotte Harold and Daven King who will be baptised this weekend at Our Lady of the Rosary, Caloundra.
