Catholic Mission: World Mission Sunday
World Mission Sunday will be celebrated on Sunday, 18 October, marking 100 years since Pope Pius XI established this special day for the Church to come together in prayer, solidarity and support for missionary work around the world. This year’s theme, chosen by Pope Leo XIV, is “One in Christ, united in mission.”
This World Mission Month, Catholic Mission invites us to reflect on what it means to be one Church, sharing in the mission of Christ and standing alongside communities in need.
In rural Malawi, children and families continue to face significant challenges in accessing education. Yamikani, who lives with a physical disability, walks several kilometres each day to reach school. For families in remote communities, distance, limited resources and the ongoing effects of past natural disasters can make education difficult to access.
There is hope. Fr Matthew Semba, Director of Social Services for the Diocese of Chikwawa, is working alongside local communities to oversee the construction of St Peter’s Nyamikuta Primary School in Kampira. The new school will bring education closer to children and families, while also providing nutritious meals, educational supplies and shade trees.
This World Mission Month, you are invited to share in this mission, standing with families as they rebuild their lives and create a brighter future for their children. Visit catholicmission.org.au/united or click HERE to find out more.

Archbishop Mark’s Visit
Our parish is delighted to welcome Archbishop Mark Coleridge, who will celebrate the 9:30 am Mass on Sunday, 25 October, at the OLR church.
This will be a special opportunity to gather as a community of faith, give thanks to God, and welcome Archbishop Coleridge, whose leadership and pastoral care have meant so much to the Church in Brisbane. As we gather around the Lord’s table, we will pray for our parish, our Archdiocese, and all who serve the Church.
During his visit, Archbishop Coleridge will meet with parishioners and introduce his recent autobiography. We look forward to hearing more about his journey of faith and ministry. His visit will also give us an opportunity to greet him personally and express our gratitude for his many years of service to the archdiocese.
Please invite your family and friends to come along and share this special morning of prayer, conversation, and fellowship with our parish family.

Garden & Grounds Volunteers
The Parish are seeking additional helpers to support the Garden and Grounds Maintenance team at Our Lady of the Rosary Church. Tasks include hedging, whipper snipping, general gardening, and light grounds upkeep around the church.
If you’re able to lend a hand, even occasionally, we’d be very grateful. Please email cp.serviceandoutreach@bne.catholic.net.au or contact the Parish office for more information.
A Year of Yes Prayer
Today and every day I say Yes to you O Lord.
In the same way that Mary said yes to your invitation, I say Yes to your Son’s presence in my life.
May my yes, by the power of your Holy Spirit, allow you to use all the talents, skills and gifts you have given me for the purpose of building up Your Body in our community.
We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.
