Social Justice Sunday

This weekend, our parish celebrates Social Justice Sunday, which invites us as a parish community to pause, reflect, and renew our commitment to living the Gospel in practical, compassionate ways – putting our faith into action.

This year’s Social Justice Statements from the Australian Catholic Bishops call us to be “Salt and Light”: a healing presence in a divided world, standing alongside those most affected by social division and the rising cost of living. These themes speak directly to the heart of our Service and Outreach ministries and the mission we share together. For those who would like to read the Social Justice Statements in full, you can access both documents – “Living the Gospel in Times of Social Division” (Aug release) and “The Cost of Our Living” (Feb release) – HERE

Ladies Lunch

Our September Ladies Lunch will be held on Friday 11th September at 12 noon, at Dicky Beach Surf Club, 1A Coochin Street, Dicky Beach.

All ladies are welcome to come along and enjoy lunch together. If you would like to attend, please contact Linda on 0429 380 979.

We hope you can join us and look forward to seeing you there!

Seniors Event – October

On Tuesday, 13th October, a bus will leave OLR Caloundra at 7:30am for a full-day pilgrimage to Marian Valley, the Brisbane Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady Help of Christians. We will celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, with some walking involved throughout the day.

Morning tea and lunch will be provided. The cost is $40 per person. The bus will return to Caloundra in the late afternoon/evening, depending on traffic. Please register via the Linktree HERE.

Anointing Masses

The Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament of healing and strength for those experiencing illness, ill health or the effects of ageing. Through anointing with the Oil of the Sick, we are strengthened by Christ’s grace and the prayerful support of the Church community. Those who are unwell, experiencing serious illness or suffering from bad health are invited to receive the sacrament. Family and friends are also welcome to attend and offer their support.

Our parish will celebrate two Anointing Masses in September:
Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Caloundra on Thursday 10 September at 9:00am
Sacred Heart Church, Maleny on Sunday 13 September at 9:00am

Rite of Christian Initiation for Teens (RCIT)

RCIT is a journey for teenagers (12-17) who are interested in becoming Catholic or who have not yet received all of the Sacraments of Initiation. It provides a space to explore the Catholic faith, ask questions, grow in relationship with Jesus Christ and discover life in the Church.

The journey includes prayer, Scripture, catechesis, conversation and participation in parish life, with teenagers accompanied by members of our parish community.

Each teenager is supported according to their circumstances as they prepare for the Sacraments of Initiation. To find out more please click HERE

A Year of Yes Prayer

Today and every day I say Yes to you O Lord.
In the same way that Mary said yes to your invitation, I say Yes to your Son’s presence in my life.
May my yes, by the power of your Holy Spirit, allow you to use all the talents, skills and gifts you have given me for the purpose of building up Your Body in our community.
We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.
