Major Relic

Our Lady of the Rosary Parish is honoured to host the Major Pilgrim Relic of St Carlo Acutis on Friday 3 July.

St Carlo Acutis was an Italian teenager who used his love of technology to share the Gospel and promote devotion to the Eucharist, which he called his “highway to heaven.Despite enjoying soccer and video games, he attended daily Mass and served the poor with great faith and kindness. Known as “God’s Influencer” and the first millennial saint, Carlo died of leukaemia at age 15 in 2006 and continues to inspire young people worldwide through his example of holiness in everyday life.

The relic, a first-class relic containing a fragment of the membrane surrounding St Carlo’s heart, will be accompanied by Monsignor Anthony Figueiredo from Assisi, who will share insights into Carlo’s life and legacy.

The day begins with Mass at 9:00am celebrated by Monsignor Anthony Figueiredo, followed by Veneration of the Relic. Visitors can enjoy Carlo Acutis’ Eucharistic Miracles exhibition and the documentary Roadmap to Reality throughout the day. Highlights include Rosary with reflections from St Carlo at 10:30am and 2:40pm, a free Family BBQ from 11:00am–12:30pm, and a presentation by Monsignor Figueiredo at 12:30pm. The afternoon also offers opportunities for Veneration of the Relic, Eucharistic Adoration, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

This special visit offers a rare opportunity to learn more about his life, seek his intercession, and deepen our own love for Christ in the Eucharist.

Friday 3 July | 9am–3pm | Our Lady of the Rosary, Caloundra

Peter’s Pence Collection

The annual Peter’s Pence Collection will be taken up as a retiring collection after all Masses on the weekend of 27–28 June.

Peter’s Pence is a worldwide collection that unites Catholics in supporting the charitable works of the Holy Father. Through this collection, Pope Leo XIV is able to provide assistance to those most in need and respond to communities affected by hardship, and conflict around the world. It is also a practical way for us to express our communion with the Church and the Holy See.

A Year of Yes Prayer

Today and every day I say Yes to you O Lord.
In the same way that Mary said yes to your invitation, I say Yes to your Son’s presence in my life.
May my yes, by the power of your Holy Spirit, allow you to use all the talents, skills and gifts you have given me for the purpose of building up Your Body in our community.
We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.
