Ministry Update – Youth & Young Adults
The Youth and Young Adult community has been thriving over the past few months, with plenty happening across both groups!
Kingdom Youth has continued to meet every Friday night, bringing together young people for faith, friendship, food, and plenty of fun. Friday before last, we swapped our usual program for
a night at Rollerdrome. There were a few impressive skating skills on display, a few spectacular wipe-outs, and more than a few laughs along the way.
Our Caloundra Young Adults group has also been gathering regularly on Wednesday evenings. Activities have ranged from Adoration and prayer nights to more relaxed social events, including coming together to watch the State of Origin. Whether it’s sharing faith or sharing snacks, it’s been wonderful to see the community continue to grow.
One of the highlights of the year so far was Ignite Launch. We were blessed to take 22 students and 7 young adults for a day packed with fun, faith, and community. The day started with a generous breakfast at GYG, graciously sponsored by one of our wonderful parishioners, for which we are incredibly grateful. From there, the group headed to Dreamworld, where the rides provided plenty of excitement and the carnival games provided plenty of opportunities to spend money chasing prizes that seemed just out of reach! The day finished with an incredible rally filled with music, singing, dancing, and worship. For many young people, Ignite Launch is a fantastic first experience of God, the wider Church, and a faith-filled community. It’s always one of the most anticipated events on our calendar, and this year certainly didn’t disappoint.
We recently spent time preparing for our final Kingdom Youth event of the term — Encounter Night; which many of you would have experienced this past Friday. This special evening was a chance to gather, pray, worship, and celebrate all that God has been doing in our community this term.
Thank you to everyone who has supported our youth and young adult ministries this term. Your prayers, encouragement, and practical support play an important part in the life of these communities.
