I’m delighted to invite you to join us for our Parish Summit Day: Curiosity to Encounter on Saturday 23rd August, 8:30am–3:30pm at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Caloundra. This day is part of my vision for our parish—that every parishioner, from the youngest to the oldest, experiences the joy of intimacy with Jesus. An intimacy that transforms hearts and animates a desire to boldly and joyfully share what we’ve received with others.
Our theme, Curiosity to Encounter, invites us to move from faithful practice to personal transformation—exploring how a spark of curiosity can become a deep encounter with Christ. Together, we’ll reflect not only on what we do as Catholics, but on what God is doing in us, and how we might respond with joy, openness, and renewed purpose.
The day will be filled with inspiring input, testimony, singing, rich conversation, shared prayer, and a sense of how God is calling us as a parish. Whether you’re deeply involved in parish life or simply seeking space to reconnect with your faith, this day is for you.

Annual Catholic Campaign – 23/24 August
This special campaign provides care and support for local ministries and people in need in our own communities. Funds raised support training for our future priests, caring for retired clergy, providing Catholic Education for struggling families, and caring for the sick and vulnerable. Brochures and envelopes will be available next weekend, which will also contain electronic giving options Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Volunteer Role: Worship Ministry Leader
Are you passionate about worship and eager to lead others in encountering Jesus through liturgy? Our Parish is seeking a volunteer Worship Ministry Leader to help animate and coordinate the liturgical life of our multi-site parish. Guided by our mission “to be a vibrant community that actively accompanies people to encounter Jesus,” this role invites someone with leadership gifts and a heart for worship to lead a small existing team of volunteers. If you’re ready to make a meaningful contribution to our parish’s spiritual renewal, please contact Fr Josh through the parish office to learn more.
Important Event Postponed
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the ‘Implementing the Reconciliation Action Plan’ Workshop that was to be held on Saturday 30th of August at OLR Church, Caloundra has been postponed until November. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. The Archdiocesan Ministries team will advise of the rescheduled date once confirmed.
Adopt a Pet – Donations Welcome
As part of Book Week celebrations at Our Lady of the Rosary School, we will once again be holding our much-loved Adopt a Pet event on Wednesday 20th August. For a gold coin donation, students will have the opportunity to adopt a soft toy to take home and care for. All proceeds from this event will support our Story Dogs program, which helps foster a love of reading through regular, positive reading experiences with trained volunteer dogs.
We are currently seeking donations of soft toys to help make this event possible. If you have any soft toys at home that are no longer needed, we would be most grateful for your contribution. Donations can be dropped off at the OLR School Office during school hours (8am – 4pm).

Kingdom Kids Youth Group
Our next Kingdom Kids Youth Group will be held Tuesday 2nd September at Unity College Hall from 4-5:30pm!
This Youth group is aimed at children in Grade 4-6. These evenings are opportunities to hang out and explore the faith in an accessible way, participate in games and activities, engage with input that helps build understanding of who Jesus is in their lives, and build friendships with likeminded kids in the parish.

Multicultural Mass 2025
Come and celebrate the rich diversity of the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Brisbane at the annual Multicultural Mass, presided by Archbishop Mark Coleridge and concelebrated by priests who minister to cultural communities across the Archdiocese.
