Annual Catholic Campaign – 23/24 August
Last weekend our parish held the Annual Catholic Campaign in support of local ministries in our Archdiocese. Thank you to everyone who responded so generously to Archbishop Mark’s call for support. If you didn’t get a chance to make a donation last week, there is still time. At your Mass Centre, there will be Campaign brochures and giving envelopes for you to fill out and return to the parish office or place in a collection basket next week. If you prefer online donations, please click HERE to make your gift online.
Thank you for your generous support.
First Holy Communion
Let us continue to pray for the 41 young children who will be making their First Holy Communion this weekend at the 5pm and 9.30am OLR Masses.
Please join us in welcoming them to our Parish family.
You are welcome to join us after the Masses for hospitality to congratulate them.
Baptism Preparation Evening for Infants
We wish to remind parents with children up to the age of 7, wishing for them to be baptized, that the next preparation meeting is at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Caloundra, on Thursday 4th September 7-8pm. At this short preparation meeting we outline some of the symbols used at the ceremony, answer any questions and confirm dates.
To book in for the preparation evening please email the Parish office ca*******@**************et.au
Post-Mass Hospitality – Celebrating Community!
Last week, 34 Parishioners came together for Hospitality after the 9am Mass at Maleny! This is just one of the wonderful examples of Post-Mass Hospitality in the Parish Community – thank you to all those who serve in this space to provide an opportunity for parishioners and visitors to come together, build relationship and actively accompany each other to encounter Jesus over a cup of coffee and a sweet treat! See below some snaps of the morning!

This Season of Creation (1st Sept – 4th Oct), there is even more reason for us to join with Christians around the world to pray for peace and encounter Jesus in prayer.
Our Hope: Creation Will Find Peace When Justice Is Restored “Then justice will dwell in the wilderness and righteousness abide in the fruitful field” (Isaiah 32:16). There is hope for a peaceful Earth. Biblically, hope is active—it involves prayer, action, and reconciling with Creation and the Creator through repentance (metanoia) and solidarity. We pray for the people suffering through wars and for the end of wars. We pray for greater attention to social justice, climate justice, and intergenerational justice.
Season of Creation Devotional
Join with us in prayer and reflection via the wonderful “Season of Creation” devotional App which is available on phones free from Apple Store and Play Store when you search for ‘Season of Creation’. The devotional was developed by QLD Churches Environmental Network (QCEN) and contains a reflection, prayers and verse for each day of Season of Creation. The devotions are accompanied by beautiful photographs of the Australian landscape, flora and fauna. PDF copies can also be downloaded by clicking HERE or ordered in a printed booklet form. (Contact ad***@*****rg.au to order – $10 each plus postage.)
Social Justice Sunday
Australia is facing a deepening crisis. Over 273,000 people sought help from homelessness services last year, many also struggling with mental illness. Services are overstretched and many people are left without care, shelter, or hope. Many who are homeless also live with serious mental health challenges. Services are overwhelmed, and too many people are left without the help they desperately need.
This year’s Social Justice Statement calls us to follow the example of Jesus, who always noticed, listened to, and cared for those on the edge of society. Just as Jesus healed the blind man Bartimaeus (Mark 10:46–52), we are called to see and respond to the needs of our sisters and brothers living in hardship. Visit https://socialjustice.catholic.org.au/ to view the statement or email cp*******************@**************et.au for more information on Parish initiatives to help those in need in our local community.
Seeking Volunteers for Children’s Liturgy
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist with our Children’s Liturgy during the 5pm Saturday Mass at Notre Dame College & 9:30am Sunday Mass at Our Lady of the Rosary Church. All materials and lesson plans are provided, and training will be offered to ensure you feel confident in this rewarding role. If you’re interested in helping nurture the faith of our youngest parishioners, please reach out to the Parish Office ca*******@**************et.au for more information.
Thank you for considering this important ministry!

A Year of Engagement
Lord God, I say yes to your will for me:
To live out my baptism in obedience to you.

To be vibrant like your Son, to extend myself in charity,
and to actively accompany people to encounter Jesus.
Who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.
