St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal—envelopes at each Mass

This week is the annual St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal at most communities. Envelopes are available on the pews and may be placed in the collection baskets. If you wish to take the envelope home and bring it back at a later date that would be fine. While we acknowledge Vinnies makes regular requests for your support, sadly we have an ever increasing need within our community. In the next few months all Vinnies conferences will be contacting families who are struggling to meet the educational needs of their children. The financial support we provide assists greatly in getting students ready for starting next year on a positive note.

And this is just one of the many ways we provide practical assistance to those in need. Thank you for your continued support you show within our community.

World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly – 26/27 July

In 2021, Pope Francis instituted a new annual celebration in our Catholic calendar: the World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly. The theme for the 2025 celebration is “Blessed are those who have not lost hope,” taken from the Book of Sirach (Sir 14:2). This theme invites us to reflect on the elderly as a vital source of wisdom and hope within our families and communities.

This special day is celebrated on the fourth Sunday in July, near the Feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, the grandparents of Jesus. It is a meaningful opportunity not only to honour the contributions of older generations but also to foster a spirit of connection and hope across all ages.

We are encouraged to recognise the invaluable wisdom and lived experience of the elderly, and to invite younger generations to engage with, learn from, and celebrate them. Families of all generations—grandchildren, children, grandparents, and even great-grandparents—are warmly invited to gather together for the celebration of the Eucharist at any parish Mass next weekend, 26/27 July.

Volunteer Role: Worship Ministry Leader

Are you passionate about worship and eager to lead others in encountering Jesus through liturgy? Our Parish is seeking a volunteer Worship Ministry Leader to help animate and coordinate the liturgical life of our multi-site parish. Guided by our mission “to be a vibrant community that actively accompanies people to encounter Jesus,” this role invites someone with leadership gifts and a heart for worship to lead a small existing team of volunteers. If you’re ready to make a meaningful contribution to our parish’s spiritual renewal, please contact Fr Josh through the parish office to learn more.

Invitation to Prayer Team Information & Training

Have you felt stirred to go deeper in your faith to accompany others to encounter Jesus more personally? Our parish is beginning a new prayer ministry after each weekend Mass — and so we are inviting expressions of interest. Prayer teams are simply two people who offer to pray with others for their needs, trusting Jesus’ promise: “Where two or more are gathered, I am there.” If you are open to being trained in this simple yet powerful ministry, please join us for an initial Prayer Team information and training session at

10.30am in the OLR Egan Room on Saturday, 2nd August.

We look forward to seeing you there – Beth and Fr Josh

A Year of Engagement

Lord God, I say yes to your will for me:

To live out my baptism in obedience to you.

As a member of our parish,

I commit myself to your mission of invitation:

To be vibrant like your Son, to extend myself in charity,

and to actively accompany people to encounter Jesus.

Who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen

On the Journey
