Community Life Ministry Update
Last weekend we celebrated our second annual Parish Service Day. This was purposely planned for the conclusion of National Volunteers Week where all past and present volunteers within our Parish were acknowledged and thanked. Our Parish has been built on the sacrifice and generosity of these volunteers.
This past weekend we also highlighted the six parish ministry areas, and the specific volunteer-based opportunities within each area. After each weekend mass the six ministries were represented outside the churches to enable each worshipping parishioner the opportunity to see, discuss and consider how they can volunteer to help our parish become “..a vibrant community that actively accompanies people to encounter Jesus.”
Thank you to several parishioners who weren’t able to go on a monthly roster, but found creative ways to still volunteer. For example, Community Life Ministry oversees hospitality and desperately needs more help – however, whilst going on a monthly roster isn’t possible for some parishioners, baking or buying food offers are gladly welcomed.
The Parish Service Day encouraged more parishioners to use their “time, talent and treasures” to contribute to the OLR mission and purpose!
Blessings, Community Life Team.
