Service and Outreach Ministry Update
Community Cooking Ministry: Compassion in Action
Our Parish Community Cooking Ministry recently finished their latest batch of cook-ups, continuing to be the hands and feet of Jesus, providing nutritious meals to those in need in our region. With more than 1,000 meals produced and counting, our cooking ministry is making a real difference for those struggling in our community. We are so grateful for the generous support of our incredible volunteers—from our Parish, the Uniting Church, and Unity College students and staff and to all our parishioners who have generously donated food and financial support through our food drives. Your kindness and generosity are bringing hope to those who need it most.
Local Outreach Initiatives
Our Parish continues to support Outreach initiatives in our community with the team providing hot soup for the recent Rosies Christmas in July event as well as home cooked meals for regular outreaches with Share-a-Meal who gather each Thursday evening at Happy Valley with meals and fellowship for those doing it tough in our community.
If you would be interested in Volunteering as part of our Outreach team to help support initiatives like these in our local community please reach out to: cp*******************@**************et.au
We would love to have you join with our team to help those in the community who need it most.
Walking the Path of Reconciliation
The Parish hosted its “What’s a Reconciliation Action Plan?” workshop, with more than 20 parishioners coming together to hear an insightful presentation from Joni McCourt (Archdiocesan RAP Manager) and Ravina Waldren (Murri Ministries). The session explored meaningful ways to advance reconciliation in our parish and community through a Reconciliation Action Plan. Unfortunately the follow up “RAP Networking Workshop – Implementing the RAP” scheduled for the end of June had to be rescheduled. This will now be hosted on August 30th. It will be an opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations, as we move forward on the shared journey of reconciliation. It will include an information session focused on implementing the RAP and focus on key action items to increase inclusiveness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture in our Parish.
Pease bring a plate to share – No RSVP Needed – All are Welcome on Saturday 30th August |10:30am–3:00pm at OLR Caloundra. Whether stirring a pot, setting a table, or listening with an open heart—every act of service is a step closer to the kind of community we’re called to build. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
Blessings – David, Bob, Trish, Mary & Roz
